Hi everyone, today I want to show you another great gift idea; a teelight holder.
Here is what you need:
- Cardstock 13 x 24 cm (for the box)
- Cardstock 9 x 24 cm (for the backpanel)
- Designerpaper
- Scorpal
- Circlecutter or Die
- Glue
- Tealightglass
- Tealight
Score the first cardstock for the box at 2, 11, 13, 22 and 24 cm like you see on the photo above.
Then score the other side on 2 and 11 cm.
Fold the scores and cut like shown on the photo. Then draw an X on the one square to make it easier to get the exact hole to put in the tealightglass.
Cut a hole in the size of your tealightglass.
When you decorate your box I decorated the upper side with the hole before I glued the box together. This way you cut the designpaper and make another hole just a little bit bigger just at the right place. Then glue the box together and decorate three sides.
Then take the other piece of cardstock which is the ground and the back panel of your holder. Score at 9 cm. The shorter part is the ground. Place a piece of adhesive tape at the height of 2 cm. Now decorate the longer side. When you add the tape first you know where exactly you can decorate that the decoration will not be covered when you add the box.
Now you have the back panel and the box. Just glue everything together. And now you can add some flowers and other embellishments just as you wish. And now your tealight holder is finished.
Here is a closer look of the box.
... and of the panel. I used one of the newest images from the 'Simply Maya' serie 'Picking Toadstoals'. I coloured her with Distress Inks.
I hope my tutorial is understandable. If you have any questions just feel free to ask. Now it's up to you to give it a try.
Hugs, Karina
