Altered Jar

Hello , hope you're coming along nicely on your Christmas preparations .
Each year I try to get made some homemade Christmas gifts.
And last year one of my Aunts said I may never stop making them as she has started an collection of them, so it's nice to see their appreciated too♥

This year my husband had sprayed me  some Jam jars after I went and picked up some gold spray,
I think he prefer to spray them for me so I don't make a mess in his tool room.. But shhh don't tell him I said so..

So here are one of my 5 jars I'm making this year..and you can find more on my blog

Wishing you all a Wonderful Christmas with your family and friends and a Happy New Year!

A chocolate box drawer!

Hi this is Linda here today with a tutorial to share with you! I love to alter little gifts for friends and today I'd like to show you a chocolate box drawer that I made for one of the girls that follow my FB-page.

This is what the finished piece looks like....

This is what you need; a chocolate box of choice, some patterned papers, 2 cardstock of the same color, decorations and an adorably cute Whiff of Joy image of course.

It also helps to have a cutting board, a scoreboard and ruler.

So this is how you do it. Start by measuring the box you'd like to use. Measurements for this particular box are:

Box: 30,5 cm times 23,9 cm (fold at 14,2 then 16,4 and from the other side at 2,2 cm and then on 21,4 cm)
Drawer: 23,9 cm times 18,6 cm (fold 2,2 cm in from all sides)

Fold along the sides and cut "flaps" so that you can fold and glue the box together. I have to use one cardstock for the box and one for the drawer.

Here is the drawer glued together in the corners.

Here I have also glued the box together and the drawer fits perfectly inside.

Then all you have left to do is the fun part - decorate!! This is how mine turned out.

A close up on the image. For coloring I have used Copics.

Here is a picture from the side to see the handle used for opening the drawer.

Thank you for visiting today!!

A Jar for Christmas

Maria Therese here today with some inspiration for you.
Hope you have a cup of coffee with you as my post today is a bit Longer than usual..
I wanted to do something special for my October post as Christmas will be here before you know it..
Every year I make something for my Aunts for Christmas as they all give such wonderful gifts for my girls.
So this year I came up with this:
I have taken a Jam jar and spray painted it white.
Perfect to put some candy in...
And a Little card to go with it

On my jar I used
and coloured the dots with Copic in different blue colours to match my card.
The pretty ribbon is

On the lid I used the Snowflakes Trio
and layered two of them.

And for my card :
The size is about 12x12 cm
The image is Christmas Kiss
I've also used Vintage book page

Hope you got some inspiration for a home made Christmas Gift

Make your Needle Box look nice

Hallo an alle!
Also, auf geht's! Pimpen wir unsere Nadelboxen! ;)

Hello everyone!
Today it's my turn to share an idea with you.
Saturday will be released the newest stamps by Whiff Of Joy, and it's all about sewing, knitting and handcrafting. I just couldn't resist to use one of those new images for my tutorial. So, let's get started and pimp our needle boxes! ;)

As you can tell from the photo I used one of those candy tins as the body of my needle box. You can get those at any supermarket and by the way you have something yummy while crafting. ;)
Beside the usual equipment like glue, scissors etc you'll also need some designer's paper of your choice and of course a beautiful image. I already colored mine in when I took the picture.
If you click on the picture you may notice that I traced the shape/size of the lid once around my image before cutting it just to make sure it fits on it.

Measure the height of your boxes bottom part and cut a strip of designer's paper acordingly.
Then add a strip of Sticky Tape at the top and bottom all around the tin. Make sure you put your Sticky Strip exactly underneath the lid. If your designer's paper is heigher it will be crinkled when closing the box later.
(And sorry, I have no idea why the picture is turned around here!)

Now glue your designer's paper to the tin. The easiest way to do it is to only remove the backing of the upper strip of tape, glue down the paper exactly and then glue down the lower end of the paper.

Repeat those steps to the lid of your tin. Instead of designer's paper I used some crinkled lace border and a strip of satin ribbon as decoration.

Now the top of the lid needs some covering as well. I went with the same designer's paper that I used for the bottom.
I have no idea of those candy tins are kind of normed but for my tin the largest Spellbinder's circle fitted on exactly.

And now the funniest part starts - decorating!
Underneath the image - that was cut using the second large Spellbinder's circle - I put a doily and I framed the image with some faux stitching.
I also added two pins and decorated one with a bow and also added the stamped word "needles".

Und fertig ist die neue Nadelbox!
And your new needle box is ready!

Have fun pimping your own box, no matter what shape it is!
