Criss Cross Card

Hello everyone, Karina here. I don't have a new tutorial for you today. But want to lead you to a wonderful video tutorial our dear Jeanette made a while ago, showing how to make a Criss Cross Pocket Card. I loved to look at it and to see how she makes it and felt very inspired to create a Criss Cross Card as well. I love this kind of cards.

For my card I used this sweet image 'Cookies for Santa' available as a Digi Stamp. The German sentiment is from Whiff of Joy as well, and so is the star festoon die.

Diesmal möchten wir Euch eine Anleitung für einen Milchtüten Adventskalender für die 4 Adventssonntage zeigen. Der Kalender hat ein Gesamtmaß von 10,5 cm x 10,5 cm x 16 cm.

This time we want to show you a tut for a mini-milkbag-calendar, that’s one milkbag for each sunday in advent.

4x Fotokarton à 17,5 cm x 21 cm
1x Fotokarton 18,5 cm x 18,5 cm
1x Fotokarton 42,4 cm x 10 cm
Falzbrett/Scorpal ( geht auch ohne)
Falzbein
Schere
Klebeband
Label (Spellbinders)

4x cardstock 17,5 cm x 21 cm
1x cardstock 18,5 cm x 18,5 cm
1x cardstock 41,6 cm x 10 cm
Scorpal

Tacky tape

Falzt und schneidet Euren Fotokarton nach folgenden Vorlagen: 4x die Milchtüte

Fold and cut your cardstock like the template below: 4 x milkbag

 

Hier ein Tip zum Falzen der Dreiecke / Now a tip! Fold the triangles like the picture below

Jetzt braucht ihr noch:

1x Behälter
1x Henkel

You will need as well:

1x container
1x handle

Nun müsst Ihr nur alles falten und wenn Ihr die die Einzelteile bestempeln wollt, solltet Ihr das jetzt machen. Anschließend klebt Ihr die Milchtüten an der 1cm Klebelasche zusammen, ebenso den Boden. Nun ist die Erste auch schon fertig, wiederholt das noch weitere 3 mal.

Fold and cute these two again. If you want to stamp your cardstock, do this now. Stick the milkbags on the side and at the bottom. Do this three times.

Jetzt klebt ihr den Behälter zusammen. Den gefalzten Henkel in der Mitte falten und mit einem kleinen Label den Griff ausstanzen und zusammenkleben.

The container must be sticked also. Now fold the handle in the middle and punch out the hold with a small label, stick it together.

Der Behälter und der Henkel sollten nun so aussehen, jetzt setzt ihr einfach beide Teile zusammen.

Your container and handle should look like the picture above, put these two together.

Jetzt könnt ihr die Milchtüten in euren Behälter stellen und loslegen mit dem Dekorieren. Zum Verschließen der Milchtüten könnt ihr entweder Bänder durchziehen, oder Klettpunkte anbringen.

Close the milkbags with ribbon or use velcro dots. It´s finished, collect your milkbags with the container and let´s do the decorating work.

Halloween Coffin

Hello everyone and welcome to creepy Saturday... hehe... well, I have a Halloween project to share with you today... a tutorial how to create this little coffin you can see below. The newest images just released are just perfect for it.

 

Here we go... first a list what you need for this project:

• stamp (I used Maya as Frankenstein's Wife)
•  colouring medium (I used Distress Inks)
• Aquarell paper (I used Montval aquarell paper)
• craft cardstock
•  acryl paint
•  sponge
•  embellishment and dies as you wish

Below you have the template to print and cut out with the measures. Of course you also can make it any bigger or smaller.

I recommend to use some craft carstock of at least 300 gram to give the coffin a good stability. Cut out the whole lines and score the spotted lines. Don't forget to cut the lines where the lashes have to go in for closing the coffin.

Afterwards I gave the cuffin a used look with dab some dark brown acrylic paint onto the cardstock. I distressed the edges with a brilliance pearlescent ink pad. Afterdrying I glued the coffin together.

And now the coffin is ready to decorate as you wish.

I put a spiderweb over some flowers.

Here you can see how it looks like from the side... of course to add a spider is a must :o). You can get them in the gorgeous Halloween charm box.

And here you can see how I made the inside... I decided to create a deluxe model with red snake leather inside... he he he :o))

a little Halloween treat

Hier ist Kathrin und ich möchte Euch heute in einem kleinen Tutorial zeigen, wie Ihr ein süßes und schnelles Halloween-Treat für die kleinen Geister und Gespenster machen könnt...

Have you seen the sneak peaks of those cute new Halloween stamps yet that we from the DT are sharing with you this week? Oh, they are just the cutest!

And I made a little sweet treat matching my card for the new Whiff Of Joy Challenge.

Habt Ihr schon die Vorschauen auf die tollen neuen Halloween-Stempel gesehen, die wir vom DT Euch diese Woche zeigen? Oh, sie sind einfach wunderbar!
Und ich habe diese kleine Süßigkeitenverpackung so gestaltet, dass sie zu meiner Karte für die neuste Whiff Of Joy Challenge paßt.

Here's what you'll need:

some Carstock for the base

some designer's paper for decoration

the usual stuff like ruler, scissors, bonefolder, glue etc.

a flat lollipop or any other flat, single wrapped candy

Ihr braucht:
etwas Cardstock für die Basis
etwas Designpapier zum Dekorieren
das Übliche wie Lineal, Schere, Falzbein, Kleber etc.
einen flachen Lutscher oder irgend eine andere flache und einzeln verpackte Süßigkeit

First you have to do some measuring:

Measure the width, length and height of your candy and add a little to these. I only added about 2mm for the height since I don't want the candy to move too much sideways, but added a little more in width and length to have some more room for decorations.

Then cut a strip of cardstock being as wide as you measured your candy (plus added milimeters) and being 3 x the height and 2 x the length of your candy. 

Here for my lollipop I went with a strip measuring 15,1 x 5,5 cm.

Zuerst müßt Ihr ein wenig ausmessen:
Meßt die Länge, Breite und Tiefe Eurer Süßigkeit und erweiter diese Maße ein wenig. Ich habe nur 2 mm zur Höhe hinzugerechnet, da ich vermeiden möchte, dass die Süßigkeit seitlich herausrutscht, aber zur Breite und Länge habe ich etwas mehr hinzugerechnet um mehr Platz zum Dekorieren zu haben.
Schneidet dann einen Streifen Cardstock in der gemessenen Breite (inkl. der hinzugerechneten Millimeter) zu und kürzt diesen auf die 3fache Höhe plus 2fache Länge Eurer Süßigkeit. (Das klingt hier in der Beschreibung total kompliziert, ist aber eigentlich ganz einfach und logisch).
Für meinen Lutscher habe ich einen Streifen von 15,1 x 5,5 cm geschnitten.

Now we have to score the carstock strip. 

I scored mine at 0,7 cm (height), 7,2 cm (height + length), 7,9 cm (height + lenght + height) and 14,4 cm (2 x height + 2 x length). The left over piece of cardstock will measure exactly the height of your candy again (0,7 cm in my case).

Nun muß der Streifen gefalzt werden.
Ich habe meinen bei 0,7 cm (Höhe der Süßigkeit), 7,2 cm (Höhe plus Länge), 7,9 cm (Höhe plus Länge plus Höhe) und  14,4 cm (2 x Höhe plus 2 x Länge). Das übrige Stück Cardstock mißt dann noch genau einmal die Höhe Eurer Süßigkeit (in meinem Fall 0,7 cm).

 Fold all the scored lines.

If you are using a lollipop like I did, you will have to make a whole for the stick. Make this as centered as possible in the middle section of your paper strip. I made two small holes using my Cropadile. The bigger hole would have been to big.

If you are using another candy just skip this step.

Faltet dann alle Linien vor.
Wenn Ihr, wie ich, einen Lutscher verwendet, müßt Ihr ein Loch für den Stiel machen. Macht dieses möglichst zentriert in den mittleren Cardstockstreifen. Ich habe einfach mit meinem Cropadile zwei kleine Löcher nebeneinander gemacht - das größere Loch wäre zu groß gewesen.
Falls Ihr eine andere Süßigkeit als einen Lutscher verwendet, überspring diesen Schritt einfach.

 Now put the stick through the hole (in case of using a lollipop) and put your candy in the center of the cardstock square. If you want to you can use a little piece of doublesided tape to fix it in this position.

Steckt nun den Lutscherstiel durch das Loch und legt die Süßigkeit mittig auf das gefalzte Rechteck. Wenn Ihr auf Nummer Sicher gehen wollt, dann könnt Ihr sie mit etwas doppelseitigem Klebeband fixieren.

Then put some doublesided tape on one of the strips, peel of the protection paper and close your treat by just glueing the two strips together. And you're done. 

Now all that's left to do is to decorate your treat:

Gebt dann etwas doppelseitiges Klebeband auf einen der oberen Cardstockstreifen, zieht die Schutzfolie ab und schließt Euer Candy, indem Ihr die beiden oberen Cardstockstreifen aufeinander klebt. Und schon seid Ihr fertig.
Was bleibt, ist die Dekoration:

I cut out one of the three ghosts from "3? Ghosts", one of the new stamps that will be out soon and put it on a paper rosette. The candy holder itself has been decorated with some scary paper and a piece of cheesecloth. Then I put the paper rosette on top of it. To finish it off I added a little sentiment and a black and orange bow on the lollipop stick. 

That's it! Cute and fast enough to make a bunch of these...!

Ich habe einen der süßen Geister des  Stempels "3? Geister", einem der am Wochenende erscheinenden neuen Stempel, ausgeschnitten und ihn auf einer Papierrosette festgeklebt. Die Süßigkeitenverpackugn selbst habe ich mit etwas gruseligem Papier und einem Stück Cheesecloth dekoriert. Darauf habe ich dann die Papierrosette geklebt. Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch einen Streifen Cardstock, auf den ich einen Text gestempelt habe, und eine orange und schwarz farbige Schleife am Lutscherstiel befestigt.
Das wars! Ist er nicht süß? Und noch dazu schnell genug gemacht, um eine ganze Horde Kinder damit glücklich zu machen....!

back 2 school

Hello everyone!

It's Kathrin here - back from holidays. And well, re-start of school is just around the corner...

Here in Germany we have the tradition of giving the kids a school cone for their first day of school. My kids all attended school long time ago - but this year my oldest will change school and so in some way there will be a first day of school for her.

To make it match her age - she will be 18 in february - I didn't make a school cone but a large paper pencil that I will fill with a litte something for her:

 I have been eyeing with a Cameo since quite a while now and about 1 month ago I went ahead and bought it. So this pencil was cut using my Cameo and a cutting file by svgcuts.com. But there are several tutorials out there how to make one like this i. e. HERE, even if you don't have a Cameo.

I used I Love School and the saying from In Time For Class. They were included in last year's secret stamp kit but you can get all of them individually.

I wanted my pencil to look real - and I think a lot of you agree with me that a real pencil is just yellow, with the eraser at the end... I stamped some fine lines to the "wooden" part of the pencil and used a yellow Distress Ink on the edges of the pencil as well as some dark one around the eraser.

I just added a book charm and some twin as decoration.

This is what the box looks opened:

I see myself filling it with some candies and a little extra that can make a 17 year old happy...

I hope to have inspired you a bit and maybe you find the time to make your little one's first day of school a little sweeter after the holidays...

Place Cards / Tischkarten

Hallo Ihr Lieben,
Heute habe ich für Euch folgende Idee für Tischkarten. Mittels der Schnörkel-Stanzform von Sizzix, (pro Tischkarte 3x ausstanzen) gestalte ich einen kleinen "Kartenständer". Darauf kommt dann die eigentliche Tischkarte. Diese habe ich mit dem süssen Henry auf seinem Flieger gemacht... Et voilà :)

Today I've got the following idea for place cards for you. Using the Swirly Diecut by Sizzix (cut out 3x per place card) I've created a little "card stand". On top of this comes then the place card. That one I've made with the sweet Henry on his airplane... Et voilà :)

faltet alle Schnörkel in der Mitte...
fold each swirl in the middle...

dann klebt Ihr immer 3 Swirls aneinander, damit so ein dreibeiniger Ständer entsteht...
then stick allways 3 swirls together, to create a three leg stand...

dekoriert das Tischkärtchen Eurem Anlass entsprechend, denn die Ständerchen könnt Ihr, wenn sie aus neutralem Papier gemacht sind auch für weitere Anlässe benutzen und nur die Kärtchen austauschen...
decorate the place card matching your event, as you can keep your stands, if made of neutral paper and just change the place cards for another event...

Father's Day Shirt Card...

 Hi, Lori here with a quick Father's Day Tutorial on how to make a shirt and tie card for Dad. This is a really fast and easy card that the kids can get involved in.

 Supplies: Glue, Piece of card stock 9 x 5 inches. Piece of Designer paper 4.5 x 6 oinches and a coordinating piece of cardstock for the tie. Two brads, some distress ink and a Father's Day Stamp.

Start with your 6 x 4.5 inch piece of Designer paper. I have used these fantastic Whiff of Joy papers.  Cut a 1 inch slit on either side approximately one inch from the top as shown. Draw a tie shape on a piece of matching paper. I just drew mine by hand and used a ruler to make the lines straight.

Next Cut out the tie and sponge all the edges of the shirt and tie using a distress ink. Glue the tie in place and then fold down the two sides as shown to make a collar.

Using your hole punch - punch a hole on both sides of the collar and add decorative brads. This is optional.

 Next Take your 9 x 5 inch piece of card stock and distress the edges. Stamp a Father's Day Sentiment and Stamp on the inside. I have used this adorable Henry Stamp called Precious.

 Apply glue to the front of the cardstock and adhere your shirt to it. NOTE: I added a small piece of paper to cover the brad backs before gluing in place.

 The final card should look like this. The  collar will be above the cardstock edge.

My kids can't wait to give this one to their Dad. I hope you'll get your kids crafting and give it a try!
