Tag card with Henry

Guten Morgen ihr Lieben,

 

Heute ist mein letzter Post für Whiff of Joy, aber natürlich nicht meine letzte Karte mit einem der süßen Motive. Ich liebe die Stempel von Whiff of Joy so sehr, besonders den süßen Henry.

Dieser Henry hier zählt zu meinen absoluten Lieblingen. Die Koloration habe ich wieder mit Distressmarkern und Nachfüllern gemacht.

 

Mit dieser Karte möchte ich Herzlichen Dank an Katharina und dem Team von Whiff of Joy sagen. Es hat mir so viel Spaß gemacht mit euch arbeiten zu dürfen.

Today it's my last post for Whiff of Joy but not the last card with one of cute images. I really love the stamps from Whiff of Joy, especially the cute Henry.

One of my favorit Henrys is this one with the little heart in his arms.

The colouring is made once more with Distress markers and refills.

 

I wanna say Thank you so much with this card to   Katharina and the team from Whiff of Joy. It was a pleasure to work with you.

Hi all, it is Marion this Friday and today I want to share a simple trick I learned with 

colouring with distress pads.

This is what you need:

A distress pad - 2 waterbrushes - aquarelpapier - stamp

First ink the stamp with the disress pad and stamp the image on the aquarelpaper and quickly before the

ink dries up, use the waterbrush and go over the stamped lines.

Do not worry about the blurry lines, you can redraw them with a marker afterwards.

If the image shows to little shading, add some shading by adding some more distresspaint with the brushmarker.

Or add some accents with other markers if you want.

I used spun sugar for the ears and victorian velvet for the cheeks.

Use a marker to redraw blurred lines.

Hallo hier ist Anja und heute möchte ich euch zeigen wie ich 

meine Stempelabdrücke koloriere. 

Für mein Tag habe ich einen Stempel aus dem neuen Stempel Kit verwendet.

Hi here is Anja and today I want to show you how I colorize my stamps.

For my Tag i´ve use a Stamp from the new Stamp kit.

Ich habe das Motiv mit Archival Ink Jet Black auf Aquarellpapier von Canson gestempelt.

Zum kolorieren verwende ich Distress Marker und einen Wassertankpinsel.

I stamped the image with Archival Ink Jet Black on watercolor paper by Canson. 

For the coloration I use Distress Marker and a Waterbrush.

Ich male direkt auf dem Papier und anschließend 

verwische ich die Farbe mit dem Wassertankpinsel. 

Auf den Fotos seht ihr diese beiden Schritte und die verwendeten Stifte.

I paint directly on the paper and then I blurs the color with the Waterbrush.

On the photos you can see these two steps and the Marker that I used.

Hallo von Katharina! Heute möchte ich euch anhand eines Videos zeigen wie ihr ein knuffiges Motiv von Whiff of Joy mit den neuen Distress Markern von Tim Holtz ausmalen könnt (diese sind momentan in aller Munde). Ich habe einen niedlichen Anhänger gebastelt, um die Technik zu veranschaulichen.
Weiter unten werde ich ausserdem kurz über die Vor- / Nachteile der neuen Marker sprechen.

Why should I get the new Distress Markers if I already own the inkpads and/or the refillers?
This was the main question I asked myself after hearing that these markers are coming out. The advantages quickly became clear to me.
- they are easy to take with you if you want to colour outside your craft room.
- they are great to colour small details or to write text on your creations
- you can also stamp with them if you only stamp small images 

disadvantages:
- it is difficult to blend them directly on the paper, you need to use a medium to apply the ink on first (acrylic block or craft sheet)
- NOT refillable (this is a bit disappointing, because normally Tim Holtz’s products are very economical and reasoned. Why don’t make them refillable if the Distress refillers exist?)

Overall I am very happy with the markers and I think they are a great addition to the Distress line from Ranger!

Warum sollte ich mir die neuen Distress Markers kaufen, wenn ich doch schon die Stempelkissen und/oder die Refillers habe?
Das war die entscheidende Frage, die ich mir selbst gestellt habe, als ich hörte, dass die Marker auf den Markt kommen werden. Die Vorteile lagen für mich persönlich schnell auf der Hand.

- Man kann die Marker einfacher mitnehmen, wenn man auf ausserhalb des Bastelzimmers colorieren möchte (ich gehe oft in einen IndoorSpielplatz mit meinen Kindern, da sind die Marker handlicher als die Stempelkissen).
- Man kann mit ihnen leicht kleine Details deckend ausmalen und gezielt Schattierungen setzen.
- Man kann mit den Distress Markers auch stempeln, solange es kleine Motive sind, Hintergründe etc.
Nachteile:
- Es ist schwer die Distress Markers direkt auf dem AquarellPapier zu vermalen, dazu braucht man ein Zwischenmedium auf das man die Tinte zuerst aufträgt (Akrylblock oder Bastelmatte).
- NICHT nachfüllbar (dieser Punkt ist recht enttäuschend. Normalerweise sind die Produkte von Tim Holtz sehr durchdacht. Warum stellt man nicht wiederbefüllbare Stifte her, wenn die Nachfüller für die Stempelkissen schon existieren?)

Alles in Allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit den Distress Markern und halte sie für eine gute Ergänzung zu der Distress Linie von Ranger.
