Gift Tin and Matching card....

Hi everyone Lori here with my first Whiff of Joy Tutorial. For my project today. I recycled a tin that a glade candle came in. My kids are always being invited to birthday parties and we usually just give money so I think this is a nice way to give it and then they can store their trinkets in them. I like to make a matching card to accompany the tin.

Here is a list of what I used:
• Two circles out of Designer paper measuring 3.5 inches in diameter.
• 1 strip of Designer paper 12 inches x 1 inch.
• 1 strip of Designer paper 12 inches by .75 inches
• A pice of lace and ribbon
• Stamps - I used Willow with Strawberry Basket and Strawberries
• Flowers or misc. embellishments
• 1 piece felt vine (can use any type of trim, pearls, lace, etc..)
• Glue
• Empty tin with lid.
• 2 pieces thin trim (mine is red but I only photographed 1)

To start I applied glue to the inside and top of the tin.

Adhere the two circles.

Apply glue around the bottom of the tin and adhere the 12 inch x 1 inch piece of DP.

Apply glue to the lid and adhere the smaller piece of DP.

Here is what this step should look like.

I added my ribbon and lace trim at this stage so I could cover the cut edges
with the felt trim.

Begin attaching the trim. A string of pearls or ribbon look nice too!
I have used a self stick felt vine.

Here is after the felt is added.

Now attach the other two pieces of trim. I used this red suede like trim. Make sure to line all the seams up at the back. As you can see I wasn't very tidy with my glue as it dries clear.

Finish off the top with your embellishments.
I added Willow, strawberries a bow and some flowers and brads.

Here is a side view so you can see the second row of red trim I added.

Just add your gift and that's it. It's actually very simple and quick.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!
