Tutorial: Tissue Box Cover with Baby Henry

Hi everyone!

This is my first time posting a tutorial on the Whiff of Joy blog. Today I will show you how to make a tissue box cover. On of the perfect images to use is from the new collection, Baby Henry. This is the box I will show you how to make. To do this you need:

  • Tissue box
  • Pencil
  • Card board
  • Crafting Knife
  • Ruler
  • Card stock
  • Double sided tape
  • Sticky Tape
  • Cutting Board

*********************
So to get started measure up your tissue box. I will not include my measurements in this tutorial, because the all the tissue boxes are different. When measuring up make sure you chip board is big enough. I will show you later what to do if it´s not big enough.
Place you box on your card board. Than use you pencil to mark where your box is. (Look at the picture.)

Use a ruler to stragiht up you lines and make them visable.
Now, use you cutting board to but on the lines. BUT you are not suppose to cut all the way trough. In this way you can "break" the cardboard.

You can also use a knife and a ruler.
Than cut away sqaure number 1, 3, 7 and 9. Like the picture shows.
Than break you card board where the lines are.
Use regular sticky tape to tape together the sides like the picture shows.
But you box inside to double check that it fits.
Make sure it´s not too big. Than it will keep on falling out.
Here you can see the finished product so fare.
But one of my sides are to short. What I do than is this: Cut a piece of card stock that fits inside the side that is to short. Attach double sided tape on the card stock and glue it to the inside of the box cover.
Than cut out a piece of card board so you can glue on your card stock.
There you can see how it ended up.
Than your box is ready. On the top, use a craft knife to cut a hole. This hole need to be bigger than the hole on you orignal tissue box and also bigger than the dies you want to use.
Than you are ready to decorate you box. Make a nice opening on the top with a dies. On the final box I have used the stamp from the new collection, Baby Henry and the metal dies from Whiff of Joy "Leaves". Another picture before we finish!
