Spring Card - A How To

Today I don't have a tutorial for you per sé, but rather just a sweet Sring/Easter card, and some tips to share on the process I use to make my cards.

To create this card you need the following: 

 Stamp- Girl and her Lamb, Whiff of Joy 
Patterned Papers -6x6 paperpad
Card - 145 x145mm pre-creased white card base
Ribbon - Moss Green Satin, Whiff of Joy
Flowers -  Whiff of Joy
Pearls - Snow White, Whiff of Joy
Pearl Swirl
Tools - Sewing Machine, Paper trimmer
Colouring Medium - Copic Markers

For my card I've used one of the Whiff of Joy Gnomes, some of which are on special right now @ 50% off. The sweet stamps I've used is called Girl and her Lamb.

How To:

1. When deciding on which colours to use on my image I tend to choose my papers first. Then I match the papers to my cardstock. 
2. Colour the image and decide on what shape it will be, in this case it is a long rectangle.

3. Decide on the card design and cut the papers to size. Assemble the card front. I don't use any glue, I stitch all my papers.
4. Once the papers have been stitched down pull the threads through to the back and secure them with some tape. This stops the thread from fraying or coming loose from the card. 
5. Add the ribbon, tying around the card front. Once this is done adhere the front to the card base
   

6. Layer coordinating embellishments of your choosing until you are happy with the result. 

To photograph my cards I use a light tent with natural daylight bulbs.
