Hi all, it is Marion today and Thurday is Tutorial Thursday on the Whiff of Joy blog.
I want to share with you how I made the project below with the lovely Henry Potter.
I got a lot of questions from you how I made this spool, so I'd thought this spool would be
perfect for my tutorial.
This spool is very easy and quickly made.
The base is the core of a toilet roll.
I used Whiff of Joy's corrugated paper.
Of course you can use other papers if you wish as long as they are strong enough.
I cutted two circles with a diameter of 9 cm and in my case a piece of 14,0 x 9,7 cm to
cover the toilet roll.
I used the toilet roll to draw roughly the diameter of the roll in the middle of the circles.
Glue the rectangle piece on the toilet roll.
As an extra step I used distress paint on the rolls sides.
Then I cut the circle inside into little slices and bend them:
The next step is placing glue on the tips and attach them around the toilet roll.
This is how it should look like afterwards:
At last cut out two more circles of 9 cm and place them on top of the other circles.
This is how it should look like at the ends now:
Now you are ready to decorate.
This is how the my endresult looks like:
Close-ups:
I hope I have inspired you to making your own spool and that I was
able to combine all your questions in this tutorial.
Till next time,
Happy Crafting,
Hugs,
Marion
