SNOW! - at least on a card...

Hello everyone - and happy friday morning! This is Kathrin here today sharing a card with you.
Well, I know that some areas of the world have plenty of snow at the moment but, believe it or not, here in Germany we only had one single snow day in december that far! So well, let's bring winter here by making a snowy card:

This is the cute Maya and Kitty drinking hot tea image.
In the background I used the amazing Snowburst Die-Light. It was the first time I used it and since I saw the amazing video about how to get it cut perfectly I expected some difficulties or at least the need of having to turn it over in my die cutting machine. But no - I just ran it through a few times and it was cut just the way it's meant to be.
I also used the Large Snowflake Die-Light set and can you see that the small snowflake from the Christmas Tag Die-Light set fits in there perfectly?  I added some red cardstock behind the heart in the middle because it goes so great with the hearwarming image.
The saying is from the german text set German Christmas Sentiments and means "cold toes, warm heart".
And finally I used some clear iridescent Crystals on my card, put in a half circle around the image. Don't you agree that there has to be some bling if you make a snow-ish card?

The image has been colored using Copics:

I wanted the warm red tones and some frosty blue tones to make the image match the saying color tone wise. I was afraid that the red bench could take too much attention from Maya and Kitty - but I wanted my bench to look like one of those typical park benches. And no, I don't think it gets too much attention...
I used the same reds also for Kitty's collar, Maya's mittens and her ear warmers, just adding a little darker tone.
The ear warmes have been colored with small dots to make them look a bit fluffy and cozy.
And I used a darker pink than usual to color the cheeks but well, in winter you just get really red cheeks outside, right?

So, I am going to go skiing this weekend, hoping that the snow guns do a good job and we will actually be able to ski... And well, if the trip gets cancelled it means some unexpected crafting time what wouldn't be too bad either because there is a bunch of wonderful new stuff coming soon... ;)
Big hugs
Kathrin
