Woven background

Hello dear blogreaders, it's Ingrid here!
I'm one of those scrappers that finds it difficult to throw something away... Maybe I can use it later! I don't find it difficult to throw away unused toys of the children or stuff from my husband, but with scrap-related things it's difficult ;-) Recognizable? Well, then this is your moment! You can use those scraps that you saved forever.
Today I want to show you how I made a background for my card, using scraps from all different paperlines.
I cut strips from 1,5 cm at 16 cm. I organised 9 of them horizontal on a piece of scratchpaper and taped them with removable tape to the left and right, at the 1,5 cm sides of the strips. This makes it easier to weave.
I took another strip and began to weave. Just look if the pattern is convenient or that you have to start with another color.
When you weave the second strip, be sure that it is pressed good against the first one. And so on, until you also used 9 strips in vertical way. Now it's time to glue the end's of the vertical strips on the underlying strips, so that it doesn't falls apart when you remove the tape.
Remove the tape and also glue the ends of the horizontal strips.
I used a card base of 14,5 x 14,5 cm. To make my background fit my card I rip of the ends of the strips, as you can see on the picture above. I like this casual style, but ofcourse you can also cut it off straight.

For the details of the card and the coloring of Henry you can visit my blog. Thanks for coming along and hope to see you again!
Happy crafting :-)
