Quick & Easy Pocket Card

Hello, every one! It's Alice here. I am sharing a really simple and easy to make pocket card with you today. Here is what you will need:

  • a piece of cardstock measures 4 1/4" wide and 9" long
  • scoring tool
  • bone folder
  • sewing machine or strong adhesive
  • patterned paper
  • stamped image
  • embellishments
  • decorative border die/punch (optional)
  • corner rounder (optional)

First, score the piece of cardstock at 5 1/2" on the long side. This makes it easy if you want to mount this pocket card on to a regular A2 card base.

Fold with bone folder.

Decorate the card with patterned paper if desired. It's easier if you die cut/punch the borders of the card and the patterned paper separately before gluing so that the layers won't be too thick for the die/punch to cut. Trust me, I learned this the hard way... =)

Sew or use strong adhesive to attach the sides and bottom of the shorter flop to the back of the piece. I used my sewing machine for this, but score tape would work well, too.

And here you have it. A pocket that you can tuck gift cards/certificates, tags, tea/chocolate pouches and more!

Here is a look of my card after dressing it up a little.

I used the beautiful Christmas Dance for my card. I did a bit of masking to add the music background behind the image. The sentiment tag is cut using Cute Banners Trio die and the matching sentiment and frame are from Christmas Banners Set. I also mounted my pocket on to a card base so that I have more space to write the message.

This is really quick and easy to make and it comes in handy for the holiday season if you are giving out gift cards/certificates as gifts. You can always modify the size of the pocket to your desire, just have fun with it! Hope you will give it a try! =)

Thanks for stopping by!

hugs,
alice
