Wallet Card

Hello! It's Alice here and I am sharing a fun wallet card idea with you today. I didn't come up with the idea, but I adjusted the measurements to fit a gift card inside. Here is how I made mine.

You will need:
Two pieces of 8 1/2" x 3" patterned paper
One piece of 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" patterned paper
Small circle punch
Corner rounder
Scoring tool
Strong adhesive (I used Score Tape)
Ink pad and inking tool (optional)
Sewing machine (optional)
Colored image and embellishments

First, score the larger pieces of patterned paper at 4 1/4" on the long sides.

Score the smaller piece of patterned paper at 3 3/4" on the long side.

Fold all three pieces of paper, round bottom right corners.

Use a little circle punch and punch a little half circle notch on one side of the smaller piece. You can definitely use a bigger circle punch for this.

Ink paper edges if desired.

Position the smaller piece of patterned paper in the middle of one larger patterned paper. This forms the inside pockets. Use sewing machine to attach the two pieces together.

I started by sewing the center fold first then saw on the sides separately to make sure that the two pieces can still fold up after sewing. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can use strong adhesives like Score Tape for this part.

After sewing, put strong adhesive on one piece of the larger patterned paper and starting with the center fold, adhere the inside of the wallet to the outer piece. I used TWO pieces of double sided patterned paper as the wallet base for this project since I knew that I'd be using sewing machine and I wanted to hide the sewing on the back by sandwiching up the inside and outside pieces. If you are not using sewing machine, one piece of strong cardstock as the wallet base should also work just fine.

After gluing down the center fold first, I adhere the sides one at a time and did it with the card folded to maker sure that I can open and fold the card without difficulty.

And here you have it. A wallet card!

Here is my card after some decoration.

I used the adorable Henry With Large Bow for the main image.

Here is the inside. I cut a tag using Sweet Tags With Hearts to write my message on and tucked it in the other pocket. I also covered the die cut hearts with Glossy Accents for a nice finished look.

That's all from me. Hope you will give this a try! =)

hugs,
alice
