Hi, this is Kathrin and this is day # 10 of Whiff Of Joy's 16 Days of Christmas Stockings. I would like to share my stocking creation with you today.
Here in Germany we usually don't use stockings for christmas but for St. Nikolaus, which is the 6th of december. The night before our kids clean their boots - of course these are the largest they have - and put it outside the door. During the night St. Nikolaus comes by to fill the boots with candies and a little present. So I made my stocking to look a bit more like a boot.
And of course the image I used just had to be "Nikolaus and Krampus". The perfect one for my creation since we were giving it to my in-laws as a little Nikolaus-gift. Well, you have to know that Krampus is with St. Nikolaus and it's his job to punish the naughty kids. It's like the bad cop - good cop game. ;)
And I totally love the friendly look of St. Nikolaus on this stamp!
The boot has been cut using my Cameo and a cutting file I bought online. It has a lid so all the candies won't get lost. I used 300 g cardstock to make the stocking sturdy and strong enough to hold the candies and stand good.
I used one of my favourite Die-Lights to decorate the lid: the Holly set. I have several holly leave dies from different brands but these are just the best ones I have. They always fit in size and look beautiful. I also added a star underneath and some golden twine. The saying is from the German Christmas Sentiments and means "greetings from St. Nikolaus".
St. Nikolaus usually comes by foot but this time I gave him a sleigh - since he has no one helping him to carry his large sack I thought he might enjoy that. And of course it has to be golden, matching his splendid clothes.
Whiff Of Joy will be giving away this "Nikolaus and Krampus" stamp to one lucky winner. In order to enter please leave a comment at the end of this post. You have until 8 am tomorrow to enter. We will be posting the winners on the Whiff Of Joy Blog so remember to check every morning.
Thank you for stopping by today. Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see another great stocking project - and for a chance to win another beautiful stamp!
I am wishing you a wonderful christmas season!
