Hello and good morning everyone, Karina here today. Few days ago we had to move from one building to another at the company where I am working. At the new place we have new white furnitures, and I had an old ugly brown plastic pen holder from my old desk which I really didn't like to move.
First I wanted to go and buy a white or transparent one for my new place, but then thought why not creating something by myself. Thought, done...
I collected some tins, two small one that had cat food inside, and a bigger one that had Ravioli inside :o). I cleaned them and covered them first with white acrylic paint as the papers I wrapped the tins with white and blue/silver papers which was a bit transparent. And I didn't wanted the label shining trough.
Here below you can see the finished pen holder. After wrapping the tins into papers I decorated them with some lace and twine. Take card that you don's have some too keen edges! Then I glued all tins together.
Add some thick cardboard to the ground to give them a better hold.
I added this sweet birdy called 'Birdy Love', coloured with a mix of Distress Inks and Twinklings, and some flowers as well.
Doesn't it look so lovely filled with stuff? I added things I had at home to take a photo, but this holder will get a place on my working desk.
Really very easy to make and a wonderful idea to receycle some trash. I hope you enjoyed your visit here and I was able to give you some inspiration. Thank you so much for your visit!
Hugs, Karina
