Wedding Favour Box

Hi there everyone and hope that you’re keeping well. This is Michele and today I’d like to show you a tutorial on how I created this box which measures 10cm x 10cm x 4cm.
Supplies Needed
  • Scoring board
  • One 18cm square piece of cardstock
  • One 10x14.5cm cardstock (for box top)
  • Four 9.5x3.5cm pieces of designer paper
  • One 10.5 cm square piece of cardstock (for base of box)
  • One 9.5cm square piece of designer paper
  • One 8.5cm square piece of cardstock
  • One 8cm square piece of designer paper
  • Bone Folder
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Scissors
  • Stamps, Ink, etc.……. to decorate box
Step 1
Score 18cm square cardstock at 4cm on all four sides
Step 2
Pre-fold all scores with a Bone Folder. Using the scissors, make vertical cuts (following the scored line) on all four sides to create a flap in each corner of the 18cm square cardstock piece.
Step 3
Now apply double-sided tape to each corner flap on the 18cm square cardstock and fold into a box.
Step 4
Score 10x14.5cm cardstock at 4cm on the 14.5cm side
Step 5
Now apply double-sided tape to the 4cm area and stick inside the box (like the picture below)

  • Step 6
Ink all the edges on the four 9.5cm x 3.5cm pieces of designer paper
    Step 7
Adhere all the four pieces of designer paper to the sides of the box (picture below)
    Step 8
Ink up all the remaining pieces of cardstock/designer paper. Then adhere the 10.5cm square cardstock to the base of the box
    Step 9
Starting with the largest piece of designer paper now start layering them up on top of each other using double-sided tape. Now adhere all the layered paper onto the top of the box.
    Step 10
Now cut a piece of cardstock that is 9cm square and fold it in half twice to find out where the middle is. I’ve then used a circle die-cut and ran it through my big shot to cut out a circle.
    Step 11
Score at 1cm on all four sides and then fold the lines. Make vertical cuts (following the scored line) on all four sides to create a flap in each corner
    Step 12
Now decorate the top of the box using some fancy stamps. Then fold and glue all the edges together (Picture below)
    Step 13
Now get a piece of material like organza, etc. that is slightly bigger than the holder and place it underneath.
    Step 14
Using some glue that will dry clear apply it all around the sides of the holder. Then start adhering the material to the glue and hold in place on each side for a few minutes. Now put to one side until the glue has dried. Once the glue has dried singed the edge of the material using a heat gun.
    Step 15
Now place the holder into the box.
Now it’s time to decorate the top of the box.
And here is my box after I’ve decorated the top
I’ve used the gorgeous ‘Wedding Carriage’ stamp from Whiff of Joy and I’ve coloured it using my ProMarker pens. I’ve also used the ‘Sweet Heart with Tags’ die also from Whiff of Joy and have embossed it using a hearts embossing folder and then used Brushed Corduroy ink .
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and has given you a little inspiration.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
