Creating your own background (dry embossing) - by Naoual

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!
My name is Naoual and today I'm going to show you how to create a beautiful - yet very simple to do - background. I hope you'll enjoy it!

The supplies you'll need for this tutorial are:

- whichever die cutting machine you use
- a Cuttlebug embossing folder
- ink (I use the Colorbox cat's eye)
- a piece of paper of your choice

Open your embossing folder, take your ink and apply it on the side of the embossing folder that has the raised parts. Be sure to really cover the raised parts with ink.

After you've covered it in ink you take your piece of paper and put the side of the paper that you want the ink on onto the inked side of the embossing folder.
Next just close the embossing folder and put it trough your die cutting machine like you normally do.
After embossing, take the piece of paper out, ink the edges and now it should like this:

Isn't it pretty?
For my card I used this technique on a piece of dp:

The image I used for this card is one of the smaller exclusive stamps you get for free when you spend 50 euros or more at Whiff of Joy!
I made a 10 cm by 10 cm card with it, everyone who sees these small cards loves them and the size of these exclusive stamps are just perfect for them.

This image can also be found in the february stamp kit - in normal size.

I decided to keep my card simple, didn't want to cover the background to much, and with such a lovely image, the card doesn't need much more, don't you agree?

Papers: My Minds Eye; Bloom & Grow

Stamp: Whiff of Joy
Ink: Memento, Colorbox
Colour medium: Copic Sketch Markers

Embellishments: Gems; Melissa Francess
Tools: Embossing folder; Cuttlebug

Again, thank you so much for stopping by today,
Have a fabulous weekend!
