Hallo liebe Freunde von Whiff of Joy!

Es ist wieder Zeit für einen Scrap your Stash Saturday und ich, Kathrin, darf Euch meine Idee zeigen. Scrap your Stash steht ja dafür, etwas älteres oder auch einfach nur Reste, die sich beim Basteln zwangsläufig ansammeln, zu verwenden. Und so habe ich diese kleine Love Note gemacht, um sie meinem Mann heimlich in die Tasche zu schmuggeln... ;)

Hello dear friends of Whiff of Joy!

It's time for a new scrap your stash saturday and I, Kathrin, am here to show you my idea. Scrap your stash means using something old or even all those left overs that every crafter piles up because we just might be able to use them up one day. And so I made this little love note to smuggle it into my husband's pocket one day before he leaves for work.... ;)

Aus einem Reststück rosafarbenem Cardstock habe ich die Winzige Herzen Karte ausgestanzt und sie anschließend mit grauem Cardstock hinterlegt. So sieht man die Herzen besser. Anschließend habe ich das komplette Kärtchen in hellgrauer Tinte mit dem Basis Hintergründe Text - der oberste der drei im Set - bestempelt. Darüber kamen dann noch zwei der Federn von Stephanie Schütze, mit weißem Pulver embosst, darum herum ein paar Glitzersteine. 

Der Text und die süßen Mäuse sind beide von einem Simply Maya Stempel - die süße Katze, die eigentlich das Briefchen von den Mäusen bekommt - hat es leider nicht mit auf mein Kärtchen geschafft... 

Zum Schluss habe ich dann noch eine weiße Schleife sowie einen Brief-Charm aus der Box of Charms # 8 angebracht. 

Für dieses Kärtchen konnte ich super einige Rest verwenden - der rosafarbene Cardstock hätte nicht für mehr gereicht, ein kleines Reststück meines Papiers, auf dem ich immer stemple... 

Und nun verratet meinem Mann nichts! LOL

I cut the tiny hearts card from a piece of pink cardstock and then used grey cardstock to mat it to make the hearts more visible. Then I used light grey ink and the basic background stamp set - the top one of the three in this set - to stamp the text all over my card. On top of this I put two of the feathers by Stephanie Schütze and heat embosst them with white embossing powder. I added a few rhinestones around them.

The saying and the cute mice are both from a Simply Maya stamp - the cute cat that originally gets the little drawing from those mice didn't make it on my card...

To finish this off I added a white bow and a love letter charm from the box of charms # 8.

For this card I was able to use quite a few of my leftovers - the pink cardstock wouldn't have been enough for a regular sized card, there was also a small piece of the cardstock that I use for my coloring...

And now please don't spoil the surprise by telling my husband about this card! LOL

Pocket Letter

 

Hallo und guten Morgen Ihr Lieben, heute möchte ich (Karina) Euch meine neueste Leidenschaft vorstellen: Pocket Letters...

Hello and good morning, today I (Karina) want to introduce you to my newest passion: Pocket Letters...

was sind Pocket Letters... die Idee ist sehr neu und aktuell sehr im Trend. Sie ist von Janette Lane aus Amerika entwickelt worden. Man nehme eine Zeigetasche mit 9 Fächern in der Grösse von ATC's, gestalte und verziehre neun Kärtchen, welche dann das Layout der Pocket Letters ausmacht. Damit aber noch nicht genug... schliesslich enthält der Name auch das Wort 'Letter', also Brief. Denn die Rückseite der Taschen füllt  man auch wenn man mag. Was aber unbedingt enthalten sein muss ist ein Brief an den Empfänger. Die anderen Fächer kann man dann noch befüllen mit kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten für den Empfänger, z.B. Aufkleber, gestanzte Teile, Tee, Perlen, Washi Tape... und noch vieles mehr... der Fantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt. Die Pocket Letters lassen sich dann in drei Teile zusammen falten. So haben sie optimal Platz in einem C5/C6 DL Umschlag (114 x 229 cm) und kann so dem Empfänger geschickt werden ohne viel Geld für Porto ausgeben zu müssen.

What are Pocket Letters... the idea is quite new and very trendy, and is from Janette Lane from the USA. You take a 9-pocket-sleeve, in each pocket fit an ATC, then you create and decorate nine cards in the size of ATC's... they are the layout of your Pocket Letter. But not enough... the name says 'letter', so you have to include a letter in the backside of one pocket. the other pockets you can fill with little goodies for the recipient of your Pocket Letter, such as die cuttings, stickers, tea, washi tape, beads, charms and much more... there is no limit of your fantasy. Then you can fold the Pocket Letter in three parts. So they fit perfect into an envelope of size C5/C6 DL (114 x 229 cm) and you can send to the recipient without spending too much money for the shipping. 

Na, wie findet Ihr diese Idee? Ich finde sie so klasse und bin fleissig am Pocket Letters gestalten. Es macht grosse Freude diese zu kreieren, aber auch sie zu bekommen. Die Pocket Letters lassen sich dann super in einem Ordner sammeln.

How do you like this idea? I just love it and really got hooked to make them. It's so much fun not only to create but also to receive. You can collect all your Pocket Letters in a binder.

Na, habe ich Euch neugierig gemacht? Bei Whiff of Joy könnt Ihr viele Produkte finden welche sich perfekt eignen um Pocket Letters zu gestalten. Ihr müsst das unbedingt ausprobieren... aber vorsicht, kann süchtig machen! Sagt nicht ich habe Euch nicht gewarnt :-).

Die Light Wednesday

Hallo liebe Whiff of Joy Fans! Hier ist Kathrin und es ist wieder Zeit für unseren Die Light Wednesday, an dem wir Euch ein Projekt zeigen das (fast) nur mit den tollen Die-Lights von Whiff of Joy gemacht wurde.

Hello dear friends of Whiff of Joy! It's Kathrin here today doing another of our Die-Light Wednesday, which means we share a project made (almost) only using those amazing Die-Lights by Whiff Of Joy.

Und so ist diese Karte entstanden... Ich habe sie in Braun und Weiß gestaltet, das ergibt von sich aus immer schon einen edlen Look. Die Karte selbst ist etwa 13 x 13 cm groß, ein weißes Quadrat, hinterlegt mit braunem Cardstock, bildet die Grundlage.

Darauf habe ich dann die Winzige Herzen Stanze aufgeklebt, ausgestanzt aus craftfarbenem Cardstock und die Herzen mit dunklem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Darauf habe ich dann den Beerenkranz geklebt, der das Hauptelement meiner Karte bildet.

Der Text ist einer der 4 Texte, die zusammen mit der Pillowbox-Stanze geliefert werden. Ich habe ihn zusätzlich mit weißem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Eines der Blätter aus dem Blätter Trio hat sich unter der großen Rose versteckt, zusammen mit etwas Leinenschnur.

Und ei kleines "Motiv" habe ich doch noch mit eingeschummelt - eine der tollen Federn von Stephanie Schütze. Ich habe sie mit Versamark auf Vellum gestempelt, mit weißem Pulver embosst und dann ausgeschnitten.

And so I made this card... I used browns and white for it which is such an elegant color combo and perfect for a pretty simple card. My card is about 13 x 13 cm in size, a white square that I matted with some dark brown cardstock, is the base of my card.

First I put down the Tiny Hearts cut out, cut from craft cardstock and with a strip of dark brown cardstock underneath the hearts.

Then I added the Berry Wreath which is the main element on my card.

The saying is one of 4 that come with the Pillow Box Die-Light. I matted this with some white cardstock for more contrast.

One of the leaves from the Leaves Trio Set is hiding under the big rose, together with some twine.

And I also sneaked in one little "image" - one of the great feathers by Stephanie Schütze. I stamped it on Vellum using Versamark, heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then cut around it with my scissors.

Mir selbst gefällt die Karte richtig gut, und sie war außerdem noch relativ schnell gemacht.

With Sympathy cards

Hi all, I hope you all had some lovely holidays and a good start

of 2015.

It is my first post for the Whiff of Joy blog this year and I have

choosen a difficult subject for me, With Sympathy cards.

Alas I had to make some of these cards recently 

and they are always very hard to make for me.

The reason I do make them is that I know the receiver is so happy with them.

I love the Stephanie Schütze stamps from Whiff of Joy.

They can be used in so many ways and also for my With Sympathy cards I

am sharing with you all today.

On my first one I used the Feathers collection.

I used three different colours and texture, white stazon, black pigment ink and

copper embossing powder.

I also used three different feathers from the sheet.

I kept my card very clean and simple, I even did not add a cat on them :)

For my next card, I used the leaves stamp set.

I used dark brown pigment ink for stamping the leave.

Again, I kept it very, very simple.
