Make a Card Monday

Hello everyone! Hope you spent a happy weekend. Today it is my turn to show you a card I made. I decided to have a play with sweet 'Henry reading letter'. As I also love to write and read letters it's the perfect image for sending to a penfriend. But of course there are lots other occasions you can use this sweetie.

Guten Morgen liebe Whiff of Joy Freunde. Heute bin ich an der Reihe Euch eine Karte zu zeigen welche ich gewerkelt habe. Ich habe mich für den süssen 'Henry liest Brief' entschieden. Ich schreibe und lese selber auch gerne Briefe und daher ist dieser Stempel perfekt für einen Gruss an eine liebe Brieffreundin. Natürlich passt dieser süsse Henry auch für viele andere Gelegenheiten.

For my card I used also several Die-Lights. At the end of this post you can find a product list.

Für meine Karte habe ich auch einige Die-Lights verwendet. Am Ende dieses Posts könnt Ihr eine Produkteauflistung finden.

Scrap your stash and make a heartshaped easle-card, Tudorial

Hi Everyone!

It´s my turn (Bianca´s) to scrap my stash. I thought you maybe want to see a new way to use one of your "old" Whiff of Joy dies. If you belief me ore not, you can´t just make only the lovely hearthaped box with this die.

NO - it´s also perfect for make all your cards for St. Valentine´s Day this year!

All what you need is:

* this die-light - it´s Herz Geschenkbox

*your favourit Whiff of Joy Stamp (mine is: Fische)

* a Sentiment ( I have used: Ein kleiner Gruß)

* some left over papers and embelishments

*Scorebord (but it also works with  a bonefolder and a ruler) 

First of all use your die two times and cut away the the flaps. You will need the flaps with the little glue flap. If you use not so very heavy paper you have to stick this flap tougether. If you use very heavy cardstock you can also use just one of this flaps.

Now you have to score this flap at 1,1" (ore 2,5cm) and ...

... and stick it on one of your heart shaped pards. This will be your card base now. Let the glue try befor you start with the next step.

Now fold your flap just like on the photo. The scorline is now on the end of the flap. Add some glue and now you have to put the uper pard of your card. The position must be exectly on the based part of the card and the flap must be in the same position as you can see it on the foto.

Now it looks like this and it is ready for beeing decorated by you.

Don´t forget to use something like the sentiment on my card for hold the uper part of your card if it´s displayed.

It´s really easy, you can use all your left overs and a die-light in a different way.

Hi all, woohoo it is Friay and almost time for the weekend.

Friday also means it is color me happy day at the Whiff of Joy blog.

I am still in love with Henry Mouse stamps.

I think he is the cutest mouse ever

and I still love to colour him.

Today I want to share the following colouring with you:

I used my copics for colouring and these are the numbers I used for sweet Henry:

Furr: E44 - E43 - E42 - E41 - E40

Ears: R20 - E41 - E40

Henry's outfit: R29 - R27 - R24 - R22 - R59

Helmet: R29 - R27 - R24 - R22 - R59 

Helmet screen:  B02 - B01 - B00 - B000 - N7 - N5 - N3 - N1 - N0

I know, it is a lot of colours I use, but it makes blending so much easier.

I always start a section with putting down a layer with the lightest marker.

When I finished a section, I go over the section with the lightest marker

so it blends even better together.

For smaller parts like the nimbers on the helmet, I love to use Spica markers.

They also give a touch of glitter as well, so perfect for the numbers and

the small parts on Henry's outfit.

Do something special from your Digital Papers

Natasha here today to show you something new. This time a have a tutorial as well. It took me some time to decide what will be interesting for you and I went back to my roots and did something with digital papers. I made a step by step tutorial to show you how I work on my project using digital papers and my favourite technique using coffee sprinkle.

Heute bin ich, Natascha, wieder an der Reihe euch was neues zu zeigen. Dieses Mal auch mit einer Anleitung. Ich habe eine lange Zeit gegrübelt, was ich den schöne mit euch teilen kann. Ich bin dann dazu gekommen zu meinen Wurzeln zu gehen und euch mal eine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung zu zeigen wie ich mit digitalen Papieren eine Karte werkle und dabei eine meiner aktuellen Lieblingstechniken - "die Kaffee-Spritz-Technik"- nahebringen.

Als erstes möchte ich euch zeigen wie meine fertige Karte aussieht. Ich habe einige Fotos bei der Entstehung gemacht um euch das Nachvollziehen zu erleichtern.

How I did my card:
1. I choose a digital stamp some lovely digital papers and rubber stamps as well as some clear stamps by Whiff of Joy Design. The digital papers I printed on some thicker linen paper. My digital image is only 4,5 x 6,5 cm tall. I printed it and cut it with my scissors.

 Und so habe ich die Karte angefangen:

1. Ich habe mich zuerst für ein Motiv, einige Stempel und Digipapiere von Whiff of Joy entschieden. Die Digipapiere habe ich auf Leinenpapier der Stärke 120 g in zwei Größen und Farben ausgedruckt. Selbstverständlich ist der Digistempel auch ausgedruckt (auf Karteikarte) und von Hand ausgeschnitten. Da ich kleine Motive bevorzuge ist das Motiv auch gerade mal 4,5 x 6,5 cm groß.

2. Next I cut my papers in shape and arrange the papers on my card. I cut the matching matting witch is only 0,4 cm bigges as well. Here I used some mirrorcardstock in silver and some other silver cardstock I had in my stash. I stamped the sentiments allready. I have lots of digital papers that I can't use here but they are just great for the next projects :).

2. Als nächstes übelege ich mir wie ich Papiere zuschneide und auf meiner Karte anordne. Diese kann sich manchmal im Laufe des Projektes komplett verändern. Zum Glück nicht in diesem Fall ;).

Ich schneide auch schon die passende Mattung mit je 4 mm Zunahme zu. In diesem Fall ist es ein großes Stück Spiegelkarton in silber und kleinere Stücke aus silbernem Tonpapier und Aquarellpapier für den Scallopkreis. Wie man sieht bleibt noch jede Menge Digipapier fürs nächste Projekt über. Der Spruch von Whiff of Joy sowie "Gesegnete Weihnachten" sind bereits gestempelt.

3. Like you could see above I went to do a christmas card but the digital papers are not for christmas at all. So I stamped lots of snowflakes and swirls to get the christmas look. First I stamped in grey and after that in black.

Da mir die Papiere für meine eigentliche Weihnachtskarte noch nicht weihnachtlich genug sind, habe ich mit dem schönen Schneeflockenhintergrundstemp sowei mit den tollen Weihnachtsschnörkeln die Papiere etwas bestempelt und aufgehübscht. Ich habe in zwei Schritten gestempelt. Erst in dem schönen grauton und später mit dem saftigen schwarz.

4. Here we are making some "mess" :)
I have prepared myself a spray bottle with water and instant coffee. I have used lots of coffee powder to get my water very dark brown. If you use less you get a different shading. But this is fun to experemt and try out. For the mess I go in my bathroom and sprinkle coffee on my papers. After I get the look I like I put the papers on newspaper and add some instant coffee powder in the wett sprikles. Let it dry to move on with the next step.

4. Jetzt kommen wir zur eigentlichen "Sauerei" :)

Ich habe mir eine Sprühflasche mit Wasser in Instantkaffee vorbereitet und da zimlich viel Pulver vermischt. So entstehen je nach Pulvermenge sattere oder zartere Braunabstufungen.

Für die Saurei nehme ich mir meine Papiere und eine Zeitung mit in Bad und bespritze dort am Waschbecken die Papiere mit der Kaffee-Wasser-Mischung. Sobald ich ein Papierstück fertig habe, lege ich es zum Trocknen auf die Zeitung und brösele noch etwas von dem Instantpulver in die noch feuchte Mischung. Das ganze wiederhole ich solange bis alle Papiere nach meiner Zufriedenheit gebräunt sind. Hier ist wichtig zu sagen, dass man das Ergebnis nicht erzwingen kann und es sich je nach Mischung und dem Spritzen unterscheidet.

5. When your papers are dry you can go on and use some Distress Ink "Vintage Photo" for paper edges to get the vintage look. I glued my papers with the matching matting using a glue pen. After that I sew them using my sewing machine.

5. Wenn die Papiere getrocknet sind kann man mit dem Fertigstellen des Projektes weiter machen. Ich wische die vorgeschnittenen Teile mit Distress Ink "Vintage Photo" Stempelfarbe und einem Tuch (Feuchttuch, dass ich trocknen lasse). Danach klebe ich Papiere auf ihre Mattungen mit einem Klebestift auf. Ich verwende bewust keinen Doppelseitigen Kleber hier, weil ich meine Papiere anschließend mit meiner Nähmaschine nähe.

Of course I color my image and make some dekoration to get my project finished. This time I went using some ribbon, button, stars, snowflakes, trimms of grid, yarn, gems.

Now we are finished!!!

 Natürlich coloriere ich noch das Motiv und mache mir noch Gedanken zur Dekoration. Da es aber da absolut keine Vorgabe oder Anleitung zu gibt, belasse ich es heute auch dabei. Für die Deko habe ich z.b. silbernen Karton (Strucktur und Glitter) zu Sternen zugeschnitten und aus Fotopapier einige Schneeflocken gestanzt. Ich habe mir Schleifenbänder in silber, silbernes Engelshaar, weißes Häkelgarn, einige Stücke Netz und Schmucksteine ausgesucht.

Das ganze dann schön verklebt und fertig!!!

Tag you're it tuesday

Hallo liebe Whiff Of Joy Fans! Wir sind zurück aus unserer Winterpause - und erst einmal möchte ich Euch allen noch ein glückliches, gesundes und kreatives neues Jahr wünschen!

Hello dear friends of Whiff of Joy! We are back from our winter break - and first of all I want to wish all of you a happy, healthy and creative new year!

Auch dieses Jahr führen wir unsere Themen fort, das bedeuted, dass es heute einen neuen  Tag-Dienstag für Euch gibt. Und auch dieses Jahr lassen wir uns dafür von Whiff of Joy Kunden inspirieren. Ich habe mich auf die Suche in den Weiten des WWW gemacht - und bin auf diese Karte von Steffi von der Stempelwiese gestoßen:

Also this year we go on with our tradition to dedicate each day of a week to a special theme - and that means it's another tag you're it tuesday today. Again we look for inspiration from Whiff of Joy customer's works. And so I went surfing in the www and came across this card from Steffi from Stempelwiese Blog:

Die Karte ist schlicht, aber genau das hat mir gefallen und mich zu diesem Tag inspiriert:

The card is quite simple but that's exactly what caught my eye and inspired me to make this tag:

Für den Tag selbst habe ich die Tag-Die-Lights verwendet und in der Länge etwas gestreckt, so dass ich auch genug Platz für alles hatte. Das gleich habe ich dann mit dem Hintergrund gemacht, den ich per Hand geschnitten habe. Die obere Lage des Tags habe ich dann noch mit kleinen Kleeblättern und Versamark bestempelt.

I used the Nested Tag Die-Lights for my tag and enlarged the middle part to make my tag longer. So I had enough room for everything. I did the same for my background that was cut by hand. The top layer of my tag got a few clovers stamped on using Versamark.

Als Motiv habe ich den Glückswichtel  ausgewählt und in Brauntönen coloriert, nur die Kleeblätter mussten natürlich Farbe bekommen.Anschließend habe ich ihn oval ausgestanzt.
Der passende Text Glückspilz ist aus dem Stempelset Ein kleiner Gruß. Da der Wichtel ja mit einer ganzen Portion glücksbringender Kleeblätter beladen ist, dachte ich, der passt perfekt.
Oben am Tag habe ich dann noch einen kleinen Tag aus dem Türhänger Die-Lights Set angebracht sowie einen Kleeblatt-Charm.

I used the Good Luck Gnome here and colored him in using different tones of browns. Only the clovers got some color. Then I cut it out in an oval shape.
The matching saying is from the German Text Set Ein kleiner Gruß. Since the little gnome is bringing loads of four leave cloves I thought this saying is the perfect one. Glückspilz is someone who has lots of luck...
To the top of the tag I used one of the small doorhanger Die-Lights and a clover charm.
