Sweet and Simple Cardsets

DSC_7007 copy_thumb[1]
I am trying to build up a collection of cute little sets of cards that can be mailed off quickly and without a huge postage cost. Minimize the bulk and you will be able to send these at a reasonable price ;)
  1. Start with  a few different colors of cardstock and matching ink pads.
  2. Cut the colored cardstock to measure 4’ x 5.25”.
  3. Cut card bases from regular white cardstock to measure 4.25’ x 5.5”. Fold in half and round  upper right-hand corner.
  4. Using a background stamp, stamp each piece of colored cardstock with the coordinating ink. Round upper right corner.
  5. Pick a focal image stamp. I used the gorgeous WoJ  Feather stamp set for my cards. Emboss using white embossing powder.
  6. Cut vellum strips to measure 2” x 4”. Sew onto your colored cardstock with white thread. I used a zig zag stitch.
  7. Adhere to the car dbases. Add assorted bling and stamp your sentiment with black ink. I used various sentiments from Whiff of Joy.
  8. Set aside to dry so that the ink sets and will not smear on the vellum
That’s it. By doing this in assembly line steps, you will have a whack of cards in no time flat!

Tag You’re It

LisaWest

Hello everyone!

It’s Lisa here and it’s time for another Tag You're It Tuesday. If you are new to the blog this means one of the Design Team selects a customers project to use as inspiration to create a new tag.  Remember to share your creations on Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc) as well as in the weekly challenges as that is where we look to find our inspiration.

This week I got my inspiration from Annett aka Kuni and in particular this card, Which Kuni entered into the Whiff of Joy challenge back in July.:

To visit Kuni’s blog and see more details about the card click here.

Here is my tag….but as you can see I cheated a little as I actually made a little tag shaped card:

From Kuni’s card I have used the layout but rotated it 90 degrees. I have also used similar techniques…..distressing stamping at the edges of the papers and used similar embellishments, pearls and twine.

I dug out my Derwent Inktense pencils to colour this little cutie. Back in July I was on holiday in Keswick in the Lake District which is home to Derwent Pencils and the Pencil Museum. It was lovely looking at the history behind pencils and of course I added a few Inktense pencils to my collection when I was in the gift shop!

Lastly a big thank you to Kuni for letting me take inspiration from her fabulous card.

Thanks for stopping by

Lisa

Stamps I used to create this tag are from the Summer Secret Stamp Kit. All other items are from my stash.

My Crafty Space

Hi everyone, I have already shared my little room with you so I thought I would show you how I store my Whiff of Joy Die-lights.

I like to keep them close by and easily accessible while I'm crafting. This makes it easier for me to find the perfect one for my card or whatever little project I'm working on.

This is what works for me at the moment, on my desk in a little plastic basket.

I would like to think I remember each and every one I have but there are so many gorgeous ones to choose from, I simply forget. So this way I just flip through them when I am busy crafting.

Tag you're it tuesday

Hello everyone!
It's another tag you're it tuesday today. As you already know this means that one of the DT members gets inspiration from a customer's creation to make a new tag. This week I got my inspiration from Andrea Pulsatilla and this banner she made:

Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Heute ist wieder "tag you're it tuesday".

I liked how she used a different paper on top of the banner and those little ribbon banners she added hanging from the top.

And this is the tag I made:

Und das ist der Tag, den ich gewerkelt habe:

I used the Nested Tags Die-Lights Set to cut the tag - once from the dotted paper and once from a strip of the printed paper to use as the top.

This cute Henry stamp is called Henry with telescope and it's from the newest digi stamp release. So if you didn't get your issue of the secret stamp kit you can now order the images individually as digi stamps.
On top of the tag I added a small tag from the Die-Light set doorhangers and an anchor charm from the Box of Charms # 7.
The saying comes in the stamp set Life's a Beach.

Den Text findet Ihr im Stempelset Life's a Beach.

Thank you all for stopping by today and an extra thanks to Andrea Pulsatilla for letting me use her picture on our blog here. Please hop over to her blog which is full of inspiration as well!

Scrap your stash

Hi all, it is Marion today and today I want to share a card with you.

We all hate throwing things away, since we can use so many things :).
I could not throw away these lovely papers that Whiff of Joy sends with your order.
I used this paper together with other stash I had in my room:

I wanted the attention drawn to the textsheet, so I added only slightly some embelsihments
and picked some nice quiet looking papers.
For an overview of my used Whiff of Joy products, please scroll down to the end of this post.

Close-ups:

I hope I have given you some inspiration,
Untill next time and happy crafting,
Hugs,
Marion
