Color me happy!

Hi all,

it´s me Clarissa, I want to show you one of my favorite techniques, to put my images in its true light. I love to color with my Distress Re-inkers, you can also use the Distress Ink pads. For the dark shades on my image I color the stamped lines with Black Soot extra. But now I want to show you, how you can make your image shine, just use some white paint on the background design-paper like my short description.

Here you can see the layout before painting.

Bring on some white paint, you can use Distress Crackle Paint Picket Fence of course, or any other white acrylic paint for paper, and go around the paper with your fingers only. Glazing is funny, believe me. Just let it dry a few seconds and start decorating your work.

Hope you´ll like my little tip and have fun to try.

Henry Potter Spool

Hi all, it is Marion today and Thurday is Tutorial Thursday on the Whiff of Joy blog.
I want to share with you how I made the project below with the lovely Henry Potter.
I got a lot of questions from you how I made this spool, so I'd thought this spool would be
perfect for my tutorial.

This spool is very easy and quickly made.
The base is the core of a toilet roll.

I used Whiff of Joy's corrugated paper.
Of course you can use other papers if you wish as long as they are strong enough.
I cutted two circles with a diameter of 9 cm and in my case a piece of 14,0 x 9,7 cm to
cover the toilet roll.

I used the toilet roll to draw roughly the diameter of the roll in the middle of the circles.

Glue the rectangle piece on the toilet roll.
As an extra step I used distress paint on the rolls sides.

Then I cut the circle inside into little slices and bend them:

The next step is placing glue on the tips and attach them around the toilet roll.
This is how it should look like afterwards:

At last cut out two more circles of 9 cm and place them on top of the other circles.
This is how it should look like at the ends now:

Now you are ready to decorate.

This is how the my endresult looks like:

Close-ups:

I hope I have inspired you to making your own spool and that I was
able to combine all your questions in this tutorial.

Till next time,
Happy Crafting,
Hugs,
Marion

Hello everyone, I hope you had a lovely weekend filled with lots of crafty time! I am here with my first 'Make a Card Monday' and I am so happy to share my card with you using the gorgeous Simply Maya 'I Heart You'.

I went all pink and girly with this card, the sentiment is WOJ's 'Birthday Phrases', the little cupcake charm is WOJ's 'Foodlovers', the satin ribbon is WOJ's 'Light Pink' ribbon and I finished it off with some flowers.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you liked my card and have fun creating!

Scrap Your Stash Saturday!

Hi there!  It's Natasha here with my first post on the Whiff of Joy Blog!

I am happy to be a part of this wonderful team!  I am here on this Saturday to share a card I made using some "scraps" that I had left over from other projects.  :)

I started with the My Minds Eye paper pad called Bramble Rose and all of these lovely "scraps".  Since us card makers never throw anything away - I'm sure you all have scarps you can work with too!  :)

And here is what I created!  I used copics to color in Reporter Henry

This card was alot of fun to make because I incorporated alot of extra things from my "stash" to make it up!  There are sequins, and flowers, and a doily!  There is also some diamond stickles on his camera and the little note on his hat!

You can find this image and more at the Whiff of Joy store here!  There is also a ton of inspiration over at the blog!

See you later!

Natasha
