Tag you're it Tuesday

Hello everyone and happy tuesday! This is Kathrin here today with a new tag, inspired by one of Whiff Of Joy's customers. I have been surfing around in the www and came across a calendar Michaela, also known as mgoll88, made:

Hallo Ihr Lieben, und wunderschönen Dienstag! Hier ist Kathrin mit einem weiteren Tag, zu dessen Design ich nich von einem von Whiff Of Joy's Kunden habe inspirieren lassen. Ich bin durch das WWW gesurft und habe so den Kalender von Michalea, auch bekannt als mgoll88, gefunden:

The top of the calendar is made from corugated paper, covered with Distress Crackle Paint. I really loved this and so I made my tag from this inspiration.

Das obere Teil des Kalenders ist aus Wellpapper, bestrichen mit Crackle Paint, gestaltet. Das finde ich wunderschön und so habe ich meinen Tag ebenso gestaltet.

To make the effect even stronger, I only covered about half of the tag with Crackle Paint, leaving the other half plain. Just the texture of the corugated paper adds so much.

Um den Effekt noch intensiver zu machen, habe ich nur etwa die Hälfte mit Crackle Paint überzogen und den Rest pur gelassen. Die Wellpappe allein hat schon so eine tolle Optik.

The tag itself has been handcut. On the bottom I used the Fancy Hearts border die.

Den Tag selbst habe ich mit der Hand geschnitten. Am unteren Rand habe ich den Fancy Hearts Die-Light verwendet.

On top of the tag I used some organza ribbon and a bow made from pink velvet ribbon. To these I attached a feather, matching the bird image, from the Box of Charms Nr. 16 and also a little hanger from the Die-Light Set Doorhangers. I love the one with this little heart and put some red cardstock underneath to make the heart pop a little more.

Oben am Tag habe ich weißes Organza-Band sowie eine Schleife aus rosafarbenem Samtband angebracht. Daran habe ich dann eine Feder aus der Box of Charms Nr. 16 angebracht, passend zum Vogel auf dem Motiv, und außerdem einen der Tags aus dem Die-Light-Set Türhänger. Ich liebe dieses Tag mit dem kleinen Herz und um es besser hervorzuheben habe ich es mit rotem Cardstock hinterlegt.

The image of this cute little bird with its heart banner is called Love is in the Air. Isn't this a cutie and perfect for any project you want to let someone know how much he/she means to you?

It was colored with Copics.

And to give the feeling that he is flying up in the air I put a cloud form the Nested Die-Light Set Nested Clouds behind him.

Das Motiv mit dem süßen Vogel und seinem Herzen-Banner heißt "Liebe liegt in der Luft". Ist das nicht niedlich und perfekt für alle Projekte, mit denen man jemandem sagen möchte, wie sehr er uns am Herzen liegt?

Das Motiv ist mit Copics coloriert.

Und um das Gefühl zu erwecken, dass der Vogel auch in er Luft fliegt, habe ich dahinter noch eine Wolke aus dem Nested Die-Light Set Geschachtelte Wolken angebracht.

Make A Card Monday with Susan

Hi Everyone!! I'm Susan Kennedy and I am so happy to be able share with you on Make A Card Monday! This is my first blog post as a Whiff of Joy DT Member and I couldn't be more excited! I think I may be in shock still about making the team! LOL! So here is the card I'm going to share with you today:

I stared at this card for so long trying to figure out what was missing.. the buttons on the left weren't there.. it was this open space and I was at a loss! So, I reached out to a wonderful friend, Crafting Vicky and she helped me figure out what was missing! Thank you Vicky!! :)

I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and used Gamsol as well. I love how it takes the pencil and makes it easy to add shading. It's really fantastic!

If you know me at all then you will know that one of my favorite techniques and the technique that shows up on almost all of my cards is decoupage. I love to fussy cut all the little pieces and give the image dimension. I just think it brings it to life! I love it! I used Pilot Henry for this card and I popped several pieces of him. I think the only not fussy cut at least once was his feet and tail LOL!   I hope you enjoy the card!

Distress Crackle Paint

Hi there, it is Marion and today I want to share one of my favourite crafting supplies with you.

I love to use this and I use it often on my cards and projects and it's called Distress Crackle Paint, more in particular the Picket Fence colour.

I just love to use this paint and love how it gives the smooth crackle effect on things.

Please do not look at my messy crafting space and cutting mat, I was in the middle of creating when these pics where taking :).

The Distress Crackle Paint really gives a lovely touch on paper edges and love to use it on vellum edges.

Here you can see a close-up where I used it on the edges of a vellum nested hearts die-light: 

As you can see the vellum die-cut pops out and the Distress Crackle Paint gives it a very nice touch.

Every Distress Crackle Paint has a lovely brush where you can paint exactly where you want.

So if you haven't tried it, I hope you give it a try after reading this post.

Scrap your Stash with Natascha Banning

Hello everyone!

 Today is my turn to show you my newest project using some of my scrap papers to create a patchwork backround. The image I have used is a digital stamp called "Henry with snowman".

Heute bin ich an der Reihe euch ein neues Projekt zu zeigen. Ich habe aus Restpapierestücken ein Patchworkhintergrund selber gestaltet. Das verwendete Hauptmotiv ist ein Digi Stempel namens "Frostige Freunde".

 It is much easier to show you some pictures and write up a step by step tutorial how I made my patchwork design. First of I masured my blanc card and cut 36 pices of squares 2,3x2,3 cm in different but matching colors.

Es ist viel einfacher euch den Enstehungsprozess mit Fotos zu erklären. Als erstes habe ich meine Grußkarte vermessen und dafür passend 36 Quadrate in den Größen 2,3x2,3 cm in verschiedenen zu einander passenden Farben zugeschnitten.

For the finishing look I have put some Vintage Photo Distress Inc to the corners of the squares.

Für einen schöneren fertigen Abschluß habe ich die Kanten der einzelnen Quadrate mit dem Vintage Photo Distress Ink eingefärbt.

I have glued the cut pieces on a sheet of printer paper. You can use glue stick like me if you are going to saw later or other permanent glues as well as double-sided adhesive tape.

Ich habe die einzelnen Stücke auf ein Blatt Druckerpapier mit einem Klebestift aufgeklebt um das ganze später mit meiner Nähmaschine zu nähen. Wer nicht nähen möchte, kann auch permanenten oder doppelseitigen Kleber verwenden.

 

After sawing my paper I have stamped some swirls direkt to the paper and image. For some more interest I have stamped a word background on a scrap craft paper piece. I have torn it to pieces and glued them to the edges.

Nach dem Nähen habe ich noch einige Schnörkel auf das Papier und das Motiv gestempelt. Für einen interessanten Effekt habe ich noch einen Text Hintergrundstempel auf ein Reststück Papier gestempelt. Dieses dann in Stücke gerissen und am Rand angeklebt.
