Concertina Matchbook gift pouch tutorial

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today with a tutorial to show you how to make a matchbook pouch you can fill with crafty goodies as a gift  for someone special.

I have used the adorable Henry with large Rose for my tutorial and you can buy him here from Whiff of Joy.

To make the matchbook you will need:
A sheet of 12x12 cardstock
Scraps of black cardstock and patterned papers
3 small ziplock pouches
Magnetic tape
Stamped image and sentiment
Scoring board or embossing tool and bone folder
Stapler
Promarkers or pens to colour your image
Flowers, button and ribbon to decorate finished pouch

1. Cut a piece of pink cardstock to measure 12.5x8cm, Score and fold every 1/2cm.

2. Add a strip of double sided tape to each side at the bottom of each bag.

3. Add the bags to the concertina strip starting at the 2nd valley fold and fold together so they are stuck in place.

4. When the  bags have been added, staple each folded section underneath close to the fold to secure the bags

5. Cut a strip of 12x12 card to measure 8.5cm wide. Score at 9cm, 9.5cm and 24cm. stick the concertina section inside the 0.5cm spine fold using wet glue.

6. Add strips of magnetic tape to the inside edge of the top flap and the top edge of the larger flap.

 7. You can fill the pouches with anything you like as long as it is quite flat

8. I have added gems, flowers and Baker's twine to mine.

9. This is what the finished pouch looks like

10. Cut panels from black card and layer panels of patterned paper on top that you have inked around the edges

11. I havestitched around the edges of my panels before adding them to the pouch with double sided tape and decorated with a bow topped with a button with a sentiment cut into a banner shape tucked underneath and some flowers and gems and my image coloured with Promarkers.

12. Here is a close up of the image.

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and are inspired to give it a go, the matchbook can be made with any size of plastic zip lock bag, just adjust the measurements accordingly.
Have a lovely weekend!
Jane

Special paper-clips in a decorated glass

Hi everybody, it’s Katharina. I have a gift idea for you today. Perfect for  friends at work or teachers. Those bright, colourful heart- paper-clips will cheer up their day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The paper-clips I used are 80mm long. I got them at our papershop. I punched the hearts of heavy watercolour paper (300g) and the same amount out of patterned paper. I will glue two of them together to give it more stability.

Cover each heart with a generous coat of Glossy Accents and let them drie over night.

After the hearts have dried on the one side, turn them over, again cover them with Glossy Accents and put the paper-clip directly into the wet Glossy Accents. Let dry completely.

I decorated a washed out “tomato sauce” glass to put the clips inside. Looks special :)

Lollipop Cover by Lori...

Hi Lori here with a Valentine's idea for you. I used Henry behind heart mini to create these fun Treat ideas!

Supplies: 7.5 inch x 2 inch piece of card stock or heavy designer paper. I went for a super sparkly piece. Lollipops, piece of lace, ribbon, brad, sentiment and stamped and coloured image.

Score your piece of card stock at 3 inches, and 4.5 inches and punch two holes in each end.

Time to add your stamp and embellishments, I have kept it simple, just a brad, piece of lace and sentiment.

Now all that is left to do is string a ribbon through the punched holes and tie it in a bow in front. Make sure the lollipop stem is in the middle so it stays in place.

These are really fun to make and if you don't add too many embellishments they are quick too! A great idea for teachers or your child's classmates! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll give it a try!

Mounting your stamps

Hi everybody! It's Ingrid here.
Today I don't have a creative project to share with you but a way of using EZ-mount when you're mounting your stamps. Cutting out the mounted stamps can be difficult because your scissors got sticky. There is a easy way to circumvent that. I didn't invent it myself, I read about it on Splitcoaststampers and thought that you all should know about it :-)
After placing your rubber stamps on the sticky side of the EZ-mount you use talcum-powder on all the sticky places that are left.
Then you can cut out your stamps as you are used to.
And after that you wash away the talcum-powder with water and a brush.
That's it! It's so easy but it really works :-) Maybe you want to give it a try once.

Thanks for visiting us today and I hope to see you again, here or on my own blog.
