Paper Gift Basket...

Lori here with a tutorial for a simple square shaped gift basket. Perfect for adding those small little gifts, cards or treats!

To begin you need a 12x12 piece of heavy designer paper or cardstock. Score at 4" and 8" and then turn it right once and do the same 4" and 8" as shown so you will have 9 squares scored off. Now cut on the four lines I have highlighted in white and pointed to with arrows. Just cut 4 inches in.

Next fold up one section and fold the left side of that one in.

Fold the next section up tucking one side in as you go. the arrows are just to show you to apply glue or double stick tape to the inside piece before you fold up the next section.

Finally fold the last part up to complete the cube and seal with glue.
Sponge all the edges. At this point I would normally add some lace around the top edge but since my paper has a decorative edge I didn't have to!

For the handle I used a sturdy piece of 12 inch x 2 inch cardstock and punched both sides.

You can then add ribbon or lace to the centre.

I attached the handle using a pearl brad. Just line it up to the top centre of the side and use a pin or tack to set your hole and then replace with a brad.

I added a simple handmade tag using one of the new sentiment from the Sweet Christmas Set .

Now all that's left is to decorate the front of your basket. I have used WOJ's new
Dancing with the Gingerbread man.

I added some homemade chocolate chip cookies and thought this would be great for teachers or coaches. Wouldn't gingerbread men be cute too? I hope you'll give it a try!

Christmas Folder

Hi there! this is Jeanette and I have a fun project for you to do now that will help you out next month :)
I love the holiday season and want to spend time enjoying it....not stressing about all the things I need to do.
Creating a Christmas Folder is a good way to keep your holiday plans and to-do lists all in one place and easily accessible. Create a folder that is embellished with all your favorite papers, tags and stamped images. It will make you smile every-time you pull it out! Add a mini-calendar and you will be all set!
This is the second year now that I have made a Christmas folder and it will be my constant companion from now until Christmas Day. It will house my lists for presents, menus and grocery lists, important dates, as well as a place to jot down my ideas for table settings, activities etc

The first thing I did was pull out the stamps (Whiff of Joy 2011 Christmas collection) and the papers that I wanted to use. Since the panels on my patterned paper (Simple Stories) were fairly big, I used a larger file folder and slightly modified the Accordion File Folder tutorial to accommodate the extra height. I created the tag inserts with my Silhouette SD and secured some ribbon to them so that I can slip my lists right between the ribbon and the panel.

Gift paper bag

Hi everybody!!!
Here is Giò and I today I want show you a lovely idea to decorate a lunch paper bag.
For this creation I used the super cute Whiff of Joy stamps from Princess collection.
For this work you will need:

Lunch paper bag (mine is 4 5/8 x 8 5/8)
Ivory cardstock
Black cardstock
Patterned paper
Magnetic disc
Embellishment as you want
Paper trimmer
Adhesive double sided tape

Cut at 5 3/4 (cm 14,5)

Cut two pieces of Kraft cardstock
4 7/8 x 9  -  score at 6 1/8  (cm 12,5x23 - score at 15,5)
4 7/8 x 6 (cm 15x12,5)

Cut three pieces of Black cardstock
4 3/4 x 6 (cm 12x15)
4 3/4 x 5 7/8 (cm 12x14,5)
4 3/4 x 2 3/4 (cm 12x7)

Cut three pieces of different patterned (these are My Mind's Eye from Vanity Fair collection)
4 5/8 x 5 7/8 (cm 11,5x14,5)
4 5/8 x 5 3/4 (cm 11,5x14)
4 5/8 x 2 5/8 ( 11,5x6,5)

Now you can stick all the layers.
Before stick the matting patterned on the Kraft flap, remember to stick a magnetic half disc.

To put in a correct way the second magnetic half disc, you leave it magnetize with the other already stick.
After peel off the protective film of the adhesive you must press down the flap and the magnetic disc is perfect positioned.

Now you can decorate the gift paper bag as you want.
This is the opened bag.

I hope you like my little tutorial...... see you soon!!

Thanks for stopping by
