Envelope card with Sweet Nora

Hi!

Today I'll show you how I make this envelope card, its very easy!

First you need a piece of cardstock, divide it in half, score the halfs in half again and then cut out one triangle on opposite corners. In the image below you see what your two pieces should look like.

That was the hard part! Now simply glue piece B over A, decorate the triangles, fold and glue them togheter and finish your envelope!

Heres my finished envelope!

Time for the inside!
I've taken a smaller piece of cardstock, about 14x14cm so it fits smoothly inside the envelope.
Then I added something to hold on to when dragging it out.
The lovely brads are brand new in the shop!
I printed a smaller version of Sweet Nora on the white piece and colored her the same way as in the front. That's one great advantage of digital stamps!
You can get them any size you like!
And here's the finished card!

Hope you got inspired!
Thanks for reading!

Gift Tin and Matching card....

Hi everyone Lori here with my first Whiff of Joy Tutorial. For my project today. I recycled a tin that a glade candle came in. My kids are always being invited to birthday parties and we usually just give money so I think this is a nice way to give it and then they can store their trinkets in them. I like to make a matching card to accompany the tin.

Here is a list of what I used:
• Two circles out of Designer paper measuring 3.5 inches in diameter.
• 1 strip of Designer paper 12 inches x 1 inch.
• 1 strip of Designer paper 12 inches by .75 inches
• A pice of lace and ribbon
• Stamps - I used Willow with Strawberry Basket and Strawberries
• Flowers or misc. embellishments
• 1 piece felt vine (can use any type of trim, pearls, lace, etc..)
• Glue
• Empty tin with lid.
• 2 pieces thin trim (mine is red but I only photographed 1)

To start I applied glue to the inside and top of the tin.

Adhere the two circles.

Apply glue around the bottom of the tin and adhere the 12 inch x 1 inch piece of DP.

Apply glue to the lid and adhere the smaller piece of DP.

Here is what this step should look like.

I added my ribbon and lace trim at this stage so I could cover the cut edges
with the felt trim.

Begin attaching the trim. A string of pearls or ribbon look nice too!
I have used a self stick felt vine.

Here is after the felt is added.

Now attach the other two pieces of trim. I used this red suede like trim. Make sure to line all the seams up at the back. As you can see I wasn't very tidy with my glue as it dries clear.

Finish off the top with your embellishments.
I added Willow, strawberries a bow and some flowers and brads.

Here is a side view so you can see the second row of red trim I added.

Just add your gift and that's it. It's actually very simple and quick.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Patchwork tray by tanjaak

Hello and good evening! I'm here to show you a nice project to work on. I have had this old tray for a while and had gotten tired of the look of it. I thought why not decorate it and find a new use for it.

So you'll need these following materials to make this project: tray, water-soluble glue, papers, image, paint brush.

Use some water to dilute the glue so that it is easier to apply. I have used papers from my scrap pile and havbe not cutted them to size... so just start applying some glue and put your papers down in a patchwork style. I realized in the process that different papers react in different ways, some curl up easily and some stay staright as they get wet...so if you want the best result it might be best to choose papers that are similar in quality and thickness.

When I waited for my tray to dry I coloured an image to decorate the tray even further. My choice of image fore this project was WoJ's new Together Forever, just love those cute birds. I also cutted it out along the edges and and glued in to place.

So here's the image in place...and the glue still wet LOL.

Now you might need to apply a second or even third coat of glue to make this tray, let the glue dry well in between. My tray was only for decorative use so I let it be as it was, I'm though thinking of painting the sides white as I don't really like that colour of wood. You could also coat the tray with a varnish found from hardware stores to make it more durable.

And here's the finished tray. Thanks for looking!

Neverending card tutorial

Hello everyone! It's Guest Designer Jane here and I have a tutorial today to show you how to make one of my favourite types of cards. Neverending cards are surprisingly easy to make and always appreciated by the recipients, my kids Friends always love them!

To make the card you will need:
Kraft cardstock
Plain coloured cardstock
6x6 Paperkit - Frühlingserwachen
Delivering my Heart to you stamp
Happy Birthday Gnome stamp
General Sayings II stamp set
Distress ink
Glue/Glossy accents
String
Button
Stick on gems/pearls
Embossing tool/bone folder
Butterfly punch
Embellishments to decorate the panels

How to make the card:
1. Cut four pieces of Kraft card to measure 14cm x 7cm

2. Score each piece 3.5cm in from each long edge and fold with a bone folder to enhance the score lines

3. Unfold the pieces and lay two pieces flat and add glue or Glossy accents to each corner as shown in the picture below.

4. Lay the other two pieces on top so they overlap the first two pieces and stick down. Allow to dry completely.

5. While the card base is drying you can cut out some cardstock to decorate the panels. You will need 8 squares cut to 6.8x6.8 cm, 8 rectangles cut to 3.2x6.8cm. 8 squares cut to 3.2x3.2cm. Stick all the panels on to the card.

6. Cut paper to layer on top of the cardstock. You will need 8 squares cut to 6.4x6.4 cm, 8 rectangles cut to 2.8x6.4cm. 8 squares cut to 2.8x2.8cm. Stamp with sentiment stamps, ink edges and stick all the paper panels on to the card.

7. Now it's time to decorate the card. Stamp your images, colour in and cut out.

8. Add to the front of the card adding string which has been glued on with glossy accents.

9. Decorate all the panels but be careful not to stick anything over the score lines as this will interfere with the folding mechanism of the card. Add embellishments, stick on gems and pearls.

10. And there you have it! A finished Neverending card!

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and feel inspired to make you own Neverending card.
Have a lovely weekend!
Jane

Stamping & More #14 Video – Colouring with Distress Inks by Katharina Frei

Every wednesdayColouring with Distress inks is very popular at the moment, so I decided to do a video about this great colouring technique. It is very similar to all watercoloring techniques. If you are already into Twinklings H2O, then you can also do Distress inks without any long learning phase.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Colouring-withDistressInks
Please excuse the bad pink smudge on Melinda’s wing. There was some colour on my acrylic block, which smeared. I tried to remove it, but it was too much. But no need to despair, I will simply cut the image out and use her without the wings :)

Fragments Magnets by Alice

Hello all! It's Alice here. I have a fun project to share with you today. I made some magnets using Tim Holtz' Rectangle Fragments and WOJ's digital images. Here is a look of the finished magnet:

Wouldn't it be so cool to stick this to your refrigerator door? I used Henry to the Rescue the for my sample.

Here is how I made it:

You will need:

  • Colored images or pre-colored images (I printed mine partially since I knew I only need parts of them to save ink and paper)
  • Fragments (You can resize your images to fit the size of your Fragments as well. I didn't resize my images.)
  • Glossy Accents
  • Megnets (I used thin self-adhesive sheet magnets, but you can use any type you have on hand as long as they are smaller than the Fragments you chose to use. Sorry that I forgot to include mine in this photo, but it will show up in one of the latter photos.)
  • A pencil
  • A pair of scissors

I used The Amazing Betty here. First, apply a generous among of Glossy Accents on the Fragment.

Put the Fragments down where you want your magnet to look like, wiggle the Fragment a little to make sure the Glossy Accents covers the whole piece. Don't worry about the portion that got squeezed out, we'll take care of that later. Once you squeezed out the air, keep pressure on the Fragment for a little while or put a heavy object over it (like a book) and let dry.

While that one was drying, I used another sample made with Bat Henry to continue the tutorial. Once it's dried, trim off the excess paper with a pair of scissors.

Here is the finished Fragment.

Trace your Fragment onto the magnetic sheet if you are using similar ones as mine. Trim around the penciled lines. I usually trim "inside" the pencil lines so that it fits my Fragment better. You can also just trim it after you stick the Fragment on.

Peel the backing and adhere the magnet to the finished Fragment.

Here are all three that I made. It's really easy and fun to make and I think they make really cool favors for kid's parties. Besides, the pre-colored digital image that were release this month will make it easier for you to mass produce projects like this. Hope you will give it a try. =)

Thanks for stopping by!

hugs,
alice
