Princess Charlotte Chart by Barbara

Howdy everyone! This is Barbara and I have a fun chart I created using Princess Charlotte which I have put up on my fridge. It's been a great tool to keep track of whose turn it is to pick the activity for our family nights! Each flower has our name's initial for the charm to dangle over which gets moved once a week.

Today, I'm going to show you how I create it. However, this chart can be modified for other purposes too... such as a mini chore chart, leader of the day, behavior or goal chart, homework chart and so on - the possibilities are endless!

I started by cutting my paper and punching any flower and circle pieces needed. For this project, the pieces measure as follows (in inches):

2 black rectangles - 6" x 3 1/2" and 4 3/4" x 2 1/4"
2 DP rectangles - 5 7/8" x 3 3/8" and 45/8" x 2 1/8"
Black circle - 1 3/4" circle punch
DP large flower - scalloped flower punch & 1 3/8" circle punch
4 small flowers - flower punch & 1/2" circle punch
Green grass strip -about 1" x 4 3/4"

Next I glued down some of the layers and then cut the green strip to look like grass. For the grass, you can also use green flowers, edge punches, decorative scissors or a crimper tool.

I colored Princess Charlotte using Copic markers then cut around the image leaving a small white border. Sometimes the border can help the image stand out more on the project.

To assemble the marking stick with a front and a back side, I used both foam dots and glue. The foam dots help bridge the gap that was created from the craft stick.

This next part uses miscellaneous jewelry pieces to create a pendulum with a charm at the bottom. The top piece that holds it to the paper is an earring but you can also use brads or eyelets. The chain was a bracelet that I cut down to the size needed then added charms on the bottom link. It's important that the chain and charm swing freely for when Princess Charlotte is moved from side to side.

Once the marking stick has been completely decorated, the layers of the chart can now be assembled. The front layer is held on by more foam dots and I positioned them around the completed marking stick. This allows me to move the marking stick to the extreme sides instead of cutting the image down.

At this point I was able to add the grass and flowers to the front. However, before gluing the flowers down, you need to verified the charm will reach each spot, especially the outermost positions.

For the final details, I used a black marker to draw stitch marks around the chart, flowers and craft stick; and then added initials to the flower centers. Finally, I painted glitter on the crown and around each flower center for a little sparkle.

I use magnet clips to hold it on the fridge door or you can blue magnets to the back of the chart. The project is complete and we can now see whom the Princess Charlotte will bestow the coveted privileges of game night to!

I hope this chart inspires you to get your creative juices flowing and have a wonderful day!

Ideas for the insides of your cards - by Jorunn

Hi there, are you getting back to your scrapping tables after the summer vacation?
I know I am, and today I would like to give you some ideas about
making the insides of your cards.

I love it when the card does not stop in the front, but continues on the inside as well,
and Whiff of Joy's stamp kits and miniature stamps are perfect
for the matching inside:

Here is what you need:
* Pattern papers
* Card stock
* Stamps that matches the front
* Ruler
* Marker or Pen (I use the zig writer)
* Other embellishments of your taste

****

Here is my card all done in the front,
and now I am ready to start working on the inside:
The image is from
Whiff of Joy's  store stamp kit

I start with making a similar lay out with the same pattern papers
as I have on the front:

Next is the card stock;
Stamp the image on the corner of the card stock, leaving room to write a greeting.
The image is also from the same kit, and matches the theme on the front perfectly

The image is now colored in, and I use my ruler and my zig writer to make a solid line
around the rest of the card stock. starting and ending around the image.
 I usually make my line about 0,5 cm from the edge of the card stock.

Now glue the card stock on the pattern papers, I added some gemstones
in the left corner, and also some glitter glue on the treasure in the chest.

...and voilà my inside is all done:

I also mentioned the miniature stamps are perfect for the insides,
and here is another card where I used an accessories stamp on the front,
and a miniature stamp on the inside:

The front:

The inside:

I hope you liked my ideas for the inside.
Have a wonderful day!

Tic Tac Holder

A gift idea - easy and fast to create
Of course there are plenty of Workshops for a Tic Tac holder - but mine was still missing "lol". Well lets face it you can get instructions for nearly anything these days. As Katharina asked me so nicely:-) to write the instructions - well here we go:
You will need Cardstock ( I used  200/m² watercolor paper) size 12,5 cm x 9 cm.
12,5 cm x 9 cm
 If you have the ScorPal then lay the Cardstock into the left corner und fold it at 2 inches, turn and fold it again by 2 inches.
 ~~~~~~~
Then you will need a good adhesive (glue) - I always use Uhu
Two pieces of Designpaper cut 4,7 cm x 8,6 cm and one 2 cm x 8,6 cm
Ribbon - approx. 22 cm
A small motive of your choice
In addition I have chosen the writing "for you"
Last but not least - do not forget a big box of Tic Tac's
Wenn ihr den ScorPal habt, dann legt ihr den Cardstock in die linke Ecke und falzt bei 2 Inch, dreht das ganze und falzt wieder bei 2 Inch.
 ~~~~~~~

 After having cut the Cardstock in addition I rounded the corners - the same goes for the Designpaper  (only the outside corners)
First you glue the ribbon centred over the entire length

 then glue the design paper over it
danach wird das Designpapier darüber geklebt.

 Now all you need to do is decorate as your heart desires. Glue in the Tic Tac box, tie it up and  your beautiful Tic Tac box is completed!
Your friends will love it and it is always a pleasure to offer your loved ones a sweets (candy) or to present them with a little but very personal give-away.

Have fun  creating
Viel Spaß beim Nachbasteln

Easy and cute minicards by tanjaak

Hello everyone! Today as my first tutorial as a dt member I´d like to share with you an easy and fast way to make cute cards... and I also want to remind you all of how cute accessory stamps and sentiments WoJ has. We so often forget that they can also be used alone.

So here are the materials needed for this 10x10cm minicard:
  • 10x20cm piece of light yellow cardstock folded in half
  • 9,6x9,6cm piece of brown cardstock
  • 9,2x9,2 piece of pink dp
  • 7,9x8,7 piece of brown cardstock
  • 7,5x8,5 piece of dp that I have embossed with my cuttlebug machine
  • a scalloped brown cardstock circle
  • a circle of cardstock with your image on it
  • sentiment stamped on a strip of paper
  • your choice of colouring medium
  • distress ink and sponge (I have used ink on the edges of the sentiment strip and also around the image)
  • your choice of adhesive... I always use double-sided tape, couldn´t live without it LOL!

After colouring in the image and sponging the edges with ink it´s time to assemble the card... that´s how easy this card is to make.

So here´s my finished card.

As these cards are so easy and fast to make I´ve made three different ones already. The little birdie and butterfly stamps are from Whiff of Joy´s 2009 spring kit but you can also get the chickie here and the butterfly here with some matching sentiments if you don´t want the whole spring kit. The sentiments I have used are from the 2010 June Stamp Kit - Fun in the sun as is the cute little crab.

Hope I have managed to insipre you at least a bit. Have fun crafting!

Fabric flowers by Giò

Hi all!!!
Today I propose you a simple tutorial flowers with fabric. I used a white fabric and then I stamped it but obviously you can use fantasy fabric or felt or even paper but in this last case the flower is less soft.

Ciao a tutti!!!

Here is the list for the material

Ecco l'elenco del materiale necessario:

Cutting machine
Scallop circle Nestabilities
White fabric
Background stamps
Craft ink
Double side adhesive tape
Circle punch 1"
Scissor
Buttons
Twine

First of all we stamp the fabric.

Per prima cosa stampiamo il tessuto.

Then we cut the pieces we need with a Nestabilities.

Now we cut in the middle each circle. We need six half circle for each flower.

Ora tagliamo a metà ogni cerchio.

On a part of the half-circle we stick a piece of double side tape.

We use this double side tape to make a little cone with the half-circle.

We cut with a punch a piece of cardstock and cover it with double side tape.

Now we stick this little cones on the cardstock .

Then a little button finishes this delicious flower.

Infine un bottoncino rifinisce questo delizioso fiorellino.

As always, I hope this tutorial like you. Thanks to spend your time here.

Come sempre spero vi sia piaciuto. Grazie per avermi dedicato il vostro tempo.

Thanks for stopping by.
