Colouring with distress refills by Aija

I made a card with this new handsome fellow from Whiff of Joy City Girl II. Here is some pictures showing the way I coloured him up. I used Tim Holz distress refill inks. First I coloured the face starting with tattered rose.

Then I added some tea dye to the outer lines. Some blush on the cheeks with fired fired brick.

On his hair I used first scattered straw. I normally start from the outer lines and come to the center. I leave quite big white areas which I fill in if needed.

Then I added tea dye and vintage photo to get the hair little darker. To the lighter area I added a hint of wild honey.

Next one is jeans, or is it straigt trousers? Well I thought to go a little casual this time :) I used faded jeans and started agen from the outer lines and used little darker colour on the inside seams.

Added some stormy sky and hint of black soot to get the shades little darker.

On the pullover I used shappy shutters and on the jacket weathered wood.

To get some deepness I used peeled paint and crushed olive.

And here is the finished male card waiting to be sent to someone young cool guy :)

Match-Book treat pouch

Hello, hope you are all enjoying the gorgeous summer weather!  Today I have a matchbook treat pouch to share with you - I have made a few of these for my grandson to give to his teachers at the end of term.  It’s been filled with chocolates – yum!


I have used Willow from the new Fun in the Sun summer kit, the Lazy summer days sentiment is also from the kit.  I have teamed it up with MME papers.  So to get started you will need:

12 x 12 or A4 cardstock, plus scraps for matting and layering
A DL cellophane card bag
Ribbon
Strong double sided tape
A border punch
Stamped and coloured image of your choice
Sweets, etc to fill

Trim your card to 5 x 12” (or if using A4 this will be slightly shorter than 12” – this is okay as you add a punched border to lengthen and strengthen the flap).  Score at 5”, %.5”, 5” and 11”

Mountain fold the 5” and 6” score lines and valley fold the 5.5” and 11” score lines

Trim a scrap of card to 2” x 5” and score in half at 1”.  Punch a second scrap and trim to 5” by approx 1”.

Trim the cellophane back to around 3.5” and apply strong tape to front and back of bag at the top.  Apply tape to the piece of card you have scored (above).

Fill the bag (but don’t be a piggy like me and overfill) with your choice of filling, remove the tape on the cellophane bag (one side) and the card and attach, do the same with the other side to make a sealed bag.

Attach the treat bag to the inside back part of the pouch.  Adhere the punched strop tot he top flap and tie a ribbon around, lining up with the fold of the flap.

Apply dimensionals to the back of the image – make sure you leave the top inch free of the tape so the flap can fit behind.

Easel giftbox

Hi ladies,

Today I want to show you how you make this great easelcard giftbox!!
Ok.. first you start with;

The boxes/drawers are; 10,9 cm x 10,9 cm that will be 4 4/16 inch x 4 4/16 inch (the pink papers)
The white papers are to cover the drawers and they will be; 20,3 cm x 7 cm, that will be 8 inches long and 2 2/16 inch wide.

Then you gonna score the pink papers (those will be the drawers)

You can see on the Martha Stewart scoring board where to score but to mention it, it will be at 2,22 cm that will be 7/8 inch at every side!! Score all 4 pink papers at this way.

Then we gonna fold and cut the pink papers like this;

Put some tape at the corners and close the drawer.

They will look like this;


Then we gonna take the white papers (cardstock) and gonna fold it like this;

so at; 2,22 cm + 9,2 cm + 11,43 cm + 18,4 cm.. that will be in inches; 14/16 inch + 3 10/16 inch + 4 8/16 inch + 7 4/16 inch..

Fold it like this and put some tape on the edge;


Put the drawers in it and it will look like this;


Then glue the cover for the drawers on to your cardstock that will be 14,5 x 14,5 in inches; 5.71 x 5.71;


now you gonna make the easelcard for on top of the drawers;

The easel card will be 29 cm long and 14,1 wide.. that will be 11,5 inch long and 5 12/16 inch wide. Score at; 7,3 cm en 14,6 cm in inches score at 2 14/16 and 5 12/16.. you can also see on the scoring board where to score!

Fold the easelcard and put it on top of the drawers;


Time to decorate..I used brads for the drawers so you can pull them out.


Then you can decorate the card how you want to.. the drawers are great to put some gifts in it.. This is the end result..

Gable Box

Sylvia here with my first tutorial for the Whiff of Joy Inspiration blog

Today I want to show you how quick and easy it is to make a gable box.
This is a perfect package for some sweets or a small gifts.

Let's get started...


supplies:


cardstock in 8 1/2 x 11 inch
scoring tool (e.g. bonefolder)
double sided adhesive tape
patterned papers
ribbon, charms.. any kind of decoration you like
oval punch or nestabilities oval die
stamp (I used Henry Celebrating Mouse)
optional: corner rounder


how-to's:

1. place your 8 1/2 x 11'' cardstock the long side (11'') and score it at 1/2'', 3 1/2'', 5 3/4'' and 8 3/4

2. rotate the cardstock 90° clockwise and score at 3'' and 6 1/2''

3. cut lines as you can see it in the picture  below:

4. put doublesided adhesive tape on the flaps as shown in the picture below:

5. flip the cardstock over and place doublesided adhesive tape as you can see it in the picture below:

6. punch out an oval opening from the two handle flaps at the top.
    if you don't have an oval punch -like me- you can e.g. use a Nestabilities oval die
    as a template to cut out an oval with your craft knife or scissors

7. adhere your patterned papers to the outside of the box
    optional: round the upper corners of your handles with a corner rounder punch
    (you can also leave the edges angled, if you don't have a corner rounder)

8. assemble the box:
    a) close and adhere the two small flaps on the bottom first

    b) close and adhere the two wide flaps at the bottom and the small side flap:

9. decorate the box to your liking.
     I used  Henry Celebrating Mouse and colored him with Tombows,
     watercolor pencils, Sakura Stardust gel pen and some Stickles.
     I also added some ribbon, and a heart charm to the handle.
     I kept my decoration simple in this sample, but you can dress it
     up as much as you like it.

Decorate your fridge

Hi Girls,

Today I want to show you some cool magnets to decorate your fridge
fridge.. its really easy to do and it dont take much time..
What do you need??


- Laminator
- Laminator sheet
- Stamped and colored images
- Magnets
- Tape

First you color your stamped images and cut them how you want them.. then you put them in a laminator sheet and pull it through the laminator: They will look like this


Then you put some tape on the magnets:


Place them on the back of your colored and laminated images:


Ready to go on the fridge; really easy and quick to do isnt it? Hope you liked my tutorial!!

ProMarker Colouring Tutorial

Hi there and thanks for stopping by today. My name is Michele Roos and I've created some tutorials for you showing how I colour my images using ProMarker pens. The image I've used is from the March Store Stamp kit called Blooming Spring.
