Stamping on fabric

Hi there! I wanted to try some stamping on fabric and here you can see how it worked out.

First I stamped some small flowers (Whiff of Joy spring swirl collection) with distress ink pad. I used white cotton fabric.

Then I added some more colour inside the flowers with cotton stick.

I added a text (from WOJ spring kit) with Versafine ink and added some black embossing powder. Heated it gently and got the text to pop out little better.

Another trial; started with background stamp. Added some distress ink with stamp thimple (what is this in enlish??). Then stamped the Whiff of Joy text.

Added a frame and some small decorations.

Stamped the little WOJ butterfly on the corner and wanted to get it a little more focused with sepia accent.

I took some threads out from the outer lines to get a finished look on them.

Then I used a sewing machinge. I added the cotton label on some paper and card base.
I turned the flower decorated fabric insideout and sewed a heart shape.

I cutted the heart our by sewed lines and did a little cutting on the background and turned the heart to the right side. Added a ribbon and little button. You could add thisdecoration on your card or on the other projecct.

And here is the finished card with fabric label. So I think it worked out very well with things you are not supposed to wash because I do not know what happens when you put the stamped fabric into the washing machine :)

Aija

Floral note set

I've got a very quick and easy project to share today.  I use a lot of note cards and when boxed can make nice, inexpensive gifts.
pom1
To make the note cards I used the Nestibilities small scalloped squares set (the largest die in that set).  Fold your card and trim to more or less to size then die cut - make sure you place the fold of the card below the scallops as per picture below so you don't cut through the fold.
pom5
Then just mat and layer with contrasting card and papers, I wanted a clean background so didn’t use designer papers, instead I used a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss that layer.  I have used the primroses image from the Whiff of Joy Birdie Love kit, which I have coloured with distress inks and Twinkling H2O’s.

The box is one of the simple Pizza Boxes.  There are loads of different templates and tutorials out there on the web so I am not showing a step by step, but I have a rough template to share showing the sizes that I used to fit the scalloped nesties.  I started off with a piece of card 6” x 11”, then scored and cut as per the template below.

Money Holder card

Hi everyone,
there is for you a little tutorial to realize an easy and lovely card money holder you can use as gift card holder.

Here is the material you need:
Whiff of Joy May store kit
Cardstock
Patterned papers
Paper trimmer
Scoring tool
Double sided tape
3d  adhesive pads
Distress ink pad
Blending tool or sponge
Corner rounder punch
Word Window punch
Half pearls

Cut 1 piece of cardstock 5 1/2 x 10 1/2
Cut 3 pieces of patterned paper 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Cut 2 pieces of patterned paper 5 3/8 x 1 7/8
Sorry.... the mesures on the photo are wrong!!!

Score the cardstock at 2" and 6 1/4

Round the edges of cardstock and all patterned paper.

Sponge every edge with Distress Ink. I used Pumice Stone.

After you stick the patterned paper on the cardstock, with Word Window punch cut a window 3 3/4" long, which will be the pocket for the money.

With double sided tape stick every patterned on the outside and inside of the card.

Put the 3d pad on the back of the image.

Stick the image on the card close, the upper part insert under the image will be the closure of the card.

Now you can enrich the card with some embellishment. I used some half pearls.

I hope my tutorial liked you and you found it clear.

Have a fabby and creative week end  ^_^
Thanks for stopping by.

Circle Flip Up Book ~ Whiff of Joy

Happy Thursday! This is Jeanette and today I want to show you a sweet little project that I made to send to a special friend. It is a Circle Flip Up Book and it is based on one that I found on Split-coasters.  I created a video tutorial to show you how to make one of your own.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 104
** I made a little mistake when I put my book together. Make sure that the bottom panels have alternating patterned paper from section to section. Oops! **
You can find more detailed photos of my project -->here<—on my blog
All stamps and sentiments are Whiff of Joy and can be found -->here<--
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be inspired to create your own little book!
Hugs Jeanette :)

Tagcard tutorial and how to make homemade tags by Camilla

Hi! Here comes my tagcard tutorial. It is on how to make a card that you can put many tags in. I will also show a tip on how to make the tags. Hope you will like it!:)
First you have to start with a bazzill paper measuring 30x30 cm. Like the one under:
I have a pen to mark out where to fold, and a cutter which folds the paper.
I start with folding the paper like you see on the next photo:
I fold it in the middle. And when it is folded it looks like this:
I open the paper again and start to measure where to fold on the other side. The card is going to have four sides, so I therefor have to devide 30 by four. So then I fold on 7,5 cm, 15 cm, and 22,5 cm like you can see on the photo under. The fold in the middle (at 15 cm) you have to take on the opposite side of the paper, because you are going to fold it the other way.
When you are finished folding, the paper looks like this. Like a small accordian:)
It is now time to make the pockets to put the tags inside. You can cut of small parts of all four sides. And it is not nesassary to have any measurments. I have just cut of paper very randomly:) But I will show you how I did it, so you have an idea.
I first started with two sides, and cut off a bit, and then I used a borderpunch on the remaining part, so the edge looked nicer. Then I started with the two other sides. First I cut of a triangle. I then took the cut-off part and placed it on the other side, so the side would look the same -only opposite from eachother.
Like this:
You will have a better view of it later. Now I wanted to make the front and the back of the card a bit thicker and stronger. So I cut out two rectangles:
I then inked and decorated them with some gorgeous Maja Design paper.
And I also measured up some more patteren paper (30x15 cm) to have inside the card. It is a bit easier than making four parts (something you also can do, of course). I folded the pattern paper like the bazzill, and then fasten it with glue to the bazzill.
When you fold up the paper it looks like this:
Now I am going to show you how I made the tags to put inside the card.
I used some leftovers and cut them up so they will fit the pockets on the card.
You can cut them at any size you like as long as they fit the pockets. This is a great way to use all the leftovers:)
I then cut of a rectangle on one side. I just cut randomly.
I then use the cut-off rectangle to make the same on the other side.
I will decorate these two tags with some cute images:)
I now use some hours which I don't have pictures off, to decorate both four tags and the card:)
And here is what I came up with:
Here is the front.
When it was too late I saw that I should have figured out something more clever with the ribbon to hold the card together. But for this one I have just wrapped it around the card.
Under you can see the tags inside the card.
Here is the whole inside with the tags taken out.
A close up:
And the last one, the back:
I hope this made sense..:)
Have a lovely day! Hugs, Camilla.
