Clipboard by Claudia Rosa

Hello ladies, today i would love to show you how i have altered a small clip board.
The steps how i alter things are pretty much identical with any other project.
Since the clipboard is just a rectangle with some rounded corners it is a simple project for any skill levels.

Memo_1_reSupplies: Stamps: Whiff Of Joy
Little Nurse
Little Doctor” both from the new Get Well collection Sentiment: Amuse Art stamps
Papers: Tim Holtz
Glue: i prefer Mod Podge (at Michaels $5.99), small brush, clip board (Michaels $1.99) i have also purchased some off Ebay or an Office Supply store, if you do not have Michaels at your place, pencil, small sanding block (Stampin up), sharp scissors, some matching paint, i like Crackle paint (not pictured)
1 1) remove your metal clip (share the fun with hubby and let him do that :-)
2) use your board as a template and trace with pencil the shape onto your paper
2 3) trace 2 pieces (one for front and one for the back and cut out
3
4) paint the edges and the sides with your paint and let dry. This will first make your board look finished from the side and also hide spots were your paper might not be cut exactly to size. Set aside and let dry.
4
5) once dried apply a thin coat of Mod Podge. Make sure you add the glue all the way to the edge of your board.
5
6) add your Design Paper to your board. Firmly press down with your fingers along the edges. Before you adhere the second Design paper to the back use a needle or piercing tool to mark the spots where your screws will go back in.
7) once the glue is dried use your sanding block, to remove excess paper and smooth the edges. Always sand from the top to the bottom. Do not move up and down.. this could lift your Design Paper off the surface.
6
8) add your metal clip back to the board 9) you are ready to embellish your project

Below is a shot of my “pocket” i created for my board. I scored the folds so a note pad or some loose papers could also be tucked in. To actually make it a bit sturdier i have added lots of pop up dots along the edge.

7
This is the finished project, would this not be a cute gift for a nurse or caregiver you know?
Memo_2_re
Here is a shot with my note book tucked inside the pocket. I was able to find one that had the same blues and pink roses for just $1 at Michaels. In the center it had some cakes – i covered that with a circular sentiment. It is an easy fix and worth the extra effort.

Perfectly matching ribbon...colouring with Promarkers by tanjaak

Hello everyone and happy monday! Today I´m going to give you a quick tip on how to always have matching ribbons on your projects. I have used Promarkers on this tutorial but Copics and other similar colouring mediums will do just as nicely. So you´ll need your pens and some white ribbon to get started.

Firstly you need to colour your image. On the picture above I have lined up all the colours I have used to colour my image that is from the May Store Stamp Kit - Aladin (1001 Nights). The next step is to choose one (or two if you are having a hard time choosing) colours that you are going to use to colour you ribbon.

I wanted to try out two colours, the lighter blue and the darkest shade of pink I had used. I usually use an accent colour on my ribbon (the pink one in this case) but as there is so little of it in the image (only on the bangles and gems) it might not work. It´s good to try though as you can always use your ribbon on another card or project, especially if you usually tend to colour with the same colours over and over again as I do LOL.

My ribbons from the top down are:
satin ribbon
organza ribbon
cotton lace
and some satin again

And here they are coloured. I used the chisel side of my pens and especially on the lace it´s best to colour on a dabbing motion. Now all you need to do is to start putting your card together. I tried the different ribbons on my card and chose to use the light blue satin one.

So here´s my final card. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Recipe's Book by Giò

Hi all!!
When I saw this beautiful "Willow's hot chicken soup" by
Whiff of Joy new collection,
I immediately thought to realize a recipe notebook.
What I am introducing you is easy and fast, 6" x 7" size and this is the material to realize it.

Coaster
Some colors of cardstock
Patterned papers - Ivory Paper
Paper trimmer
Scor pal
Crop A Dile
Eyelet
Ribbon
Distress ink Pad
Tacky Tape 1/4 o similar

For the covers
Cut 2 pieces Coaster 6x7
Cut 4 pieces Cardstock

For the inner
Cut 4 pieces Cardstock 6x7
Cut 8 pieces Cardstock 6x3
Cut 8 pieces Patterned Paper 3 1/4 x 5 7/8
Cut 8 pieces Patterned Paper 2 7/8 x 5 7/8

After you have sponged with Distress ink all the edges of your pieces, with Scor Pal score all sheets at 1" only on 7" edge.

With strong double side tape attach Cardstock on Coaster to make two covers.

Attach Patterned paper on Cardsock to make some folders that keep tags.

Take the size for the holes and sign at 1,5" from the centre on the edge.

With the help of the Crop A Dile (or a similar one) punch every piece.

With the help of the Crop A Dile again, put two eyelet on the holes of the covers, this will take them more stronger.

The last step is to put the ribbon in every piece dividing the folders basing on your necessity.

Here is your recipe book, you could have fun decorating it as you like and it will be a beautiful gift for mother's day.

I hope you like my tutorial
Thanks for stopping by

Shrink Plastic Buttons by Jane Johnson

Good morning!! Today I want to share with you how I make my shrink plastic buttons. It is quick and easy and you can create just about any shape button you like!!

You will need:

Shrink plastic (I have used the frosted shrink plastic)
Ink pads (if you use the frosted shrink plastic you can use most inks on it's rough side, otherwise you will need Stazon)
Stamps
Scissors
Cropodile
Heat mat
Tweezers
Heat gun

You can of course simply die cut circles/flowers or any other shape from the shrink plastic and colour them with copics for plain buttons, or, as I am doing here, you can stamp the shapes in different inks onto the rough side of the shrink plastic. (these stamps are from Stempelglede) Just remember that they shrink to about 7 times smaller so you need to start off fairly large!

Next I have stamped some Whiff of Joy swirl stamps from the Spring Swirls set over the top of my white circles.

Next, carefully cut around the stamped shapes.

Here are my buttons, cut and ready for the next step.

Using your cropodile, punch two (or four if you choose) holes using the smallest hole punch. WARNING! point the cropodile down towards the desk as you punch as the plastic circles are hard and sharp when they pop out and hit you in the face (from experience LOL).

After all the holes are punched it is time to shrink them!

To prevent the buttons from blowing away, hold them with some tweezers when using the heat gun. Use the hottest setting on the heat gun and hold it a couple of inches away from the button.

For those who have not used shrink plastic before, this is what happens when you start to shrink it!! It will crumple and twist together, but don't worry, once it has shrunk to size it magically flattens out!! If you choose to make some flower shape buttons you will find they are slightly more difficult as the petals sometimes stick together. If this happens simply apply another burst of heat and quickly pull them appart with the tweezers (the plastic is very hot for a few seconds after heating but soon cools down!)

Here are the finished buttons!

To give you an idea of what size stamps to use here are the finished buttons alongside the original stamps! These buttons are now 15mm diameter and the circle stamp is 37mm!

Finally, here are some of the buttons on a finished card. This image is called "Chicken Soup" and is available from today, along with 9 others from the fabulous Get Well collection. I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and are inspired to make some buttons of your own!
