Color Me Happy Friday!! with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol

Hi Everyone!! I'm Susan Kennedy and I am so happy to be able share with you on this wonderful Friday for Color Me Happy! I'm excited to share this card with you using Reporter Henry:

For this card I used Reporter Henry from Whiff of Joy. I colored him with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I printed the image several times and I colored each one so that I could decoupage a bit of him. I also inked around the edges with black ink. The papers are from a really old Club Scrap box. I added the ribbon which I tied with three loops. I created the sentiment and added the pearls next to the sentiment and on the image. I also embossed the background, red paper with a Happy Birthday embossing folder. I completed the sentiment on the inside and that is simply it. I love the shading that I got with the pencils and Gamsol with this image. And I think the decoupage added that much more to it! And I LOVE Henry!!

Prismacolor and Gamsol:  I have found that when I'm using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, that you really don't need much pencil. The best way to get the shading that you want is to apply a darker line of pencil right around the edge. Then you use the Gamsol to pull the pencil from the edge which creates that magnificent shading. I have also found that it is much better to use less pencil and add if you need to. It is nearly impossible to remove too much pencil line.

Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Hey everyone, Natasha here today to share how to make a super easy gift card holder.

http://inktimesomewhere.blogspot.com/

This post is photo heavy! :)

Well first of all I picked the adorable You are a Stitch image.  So cute!  I colored it up with the copics below.

You need a piece of paper that is 5 inches by 11.  You then score it at 5 inches and 10 inches and fold on the score lines.

It should look like the above.

I then picked out papers and layed our what the card would look like.  I also distressed all of the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I glued the two sides of the gift card holder together after putting my background paper on the inside.

Here is the finished card.

And a picture of the inside.  I hope I inspired you to make a gift card holder using your craft supplies!

Thanks,

Natasha

Wednesday Die-Light

 http://lillgumman.blogspot.se/
Hello everyone!
Erika Winterlia here again with another card tutorial for you. Today is Wednesday Die-Light and I'll be using the fun alphabet die set from the shop to make a very clean and simple card.

To make this card I used some distress inks and the alphabet die. Since the dies are made to cut out the whole letters I needed to place my cutting plates so that the bottom of the letters weren't cut. This way I got a panel with the letters on top. Behind the white panels I colored a piece of white cardstock using three different colors of distress inks and water.

Here is a closeup of the card:

I have also uploaded a tutorial video that you can find on my YouTube channel or here below.

So that was all for me today, I hope you liked my card and the video and if you want to get any of the products I used check out the complete supply list with links to the shop in the bottom of this post.

Scrap Your Stash Saturday!

Hi there!  It's Natasha here with my first post on the Whiff of Joy Blog!

I am happy to be a part of this wonderful team!  I am here on this Saturday to share a card I made using some "scraps" that I had left over from other projects.  :)

I started with the My Minds Eye paper pad called Bramble Rose and all of these lovely "scraps".  Since us card makers never throw anything away - I'm sure you all have scarps you can work with too!  :)

And here is what I created!  I used copics to color in Reporter Henry

This card was alot of fun to make because I incorporated alot of extra things from my "stash" to make it up!  There are sequins, and flowers, and a doily!  There is also some diamond stickles on his camera and the little note on his hat!

You can find this image and more at the Whiff of Joy store here!  There is also a ton of inspiration over at the blog!

See you later!

Natasha
