Copic Coloring Video ~ Coloring Folds in Clothing

Happy Saturday and thanks for swinging by today! This is Jeanette and today I have a copic coloring video for  you. The new Princess Collection is full of gorgeous princesses with long and flowing dresses so I thought I’d make a video showing how I color the folds in clothing!
WoJ Princess Cinderella

Here is the video. I have placed my narration over the video and I am still in a learning curve so the volume is quick low. Just increase the volume on your  computer speakers and then you will be able to hear it :)
Have a great day!

Distress Inks ~ Twinkling H20s: A Substitution Guide

IMG_0162
Hi there! This is Jeanette from Canada and today I wanted to share a little chart that I made that gives  a quick substitution guide comparing Distress Inks to Twinkling H20s.
I often use my H20s over copic coloring but I also use them as the only coloring medium; and I love the soft look and subtle shimmer. They add more depth to your coloration and that little something extra special to your project.
I need to add a small disclaimer :) I don’t have all full range of Distress Inks and so that is why some are missing. I also do not have all the Twinkling H20s (but I do have most). So, the comparisons were made with what I actually own.
As you will see mentioned in my chart, these are not always exact substitutions but are fairly close. I find that the Distress Inks are more vintage in tone; a little grayer whereas the H20s are more pure in color and of course; they twinkle.

Whiff of Joy has an amazing collection of Twinkling H20s as well as the wonderful water tank brushes that I use. You will find them all by clicking on the icons below:

As you can see, I used different colors for each card but kept the layout the same. Whiff of Joy has so many wonderful sentiments to suit all occasions. I have used just a few of many!

Easy Gift Tags by Jeanette

Hi! This is Jeanette from Canada and I have fun and quick holiday project to show you today!
I decided that I would make all my little gift tags this year. I used all my little pieces of extra cardstock and, instead of coloring my images which would be time-consuming, I embossed them instead. I {heart} the clean and simple look and best of all, this takes very little time to do!  I also loved that I could use many of my beloved Whiff of Joy images!
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 185
  • To start, I used the Whiff of Joy magical tag die with my Cuttle-bug and made the tags using scrap pieces of kraft cardstock.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 186
  • I ran the embossing buddy (little bag filled with cornstarch will also work) over my tag. This will prevent stray embossing powder from sticking to areas where I do not want it. I inked up my image with my Versamark stamp pad.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 187
  • I covered the stamped image with Filigree white embossing powder and gently tapped the edge of the tag to remove any stray powder. I did this over an inexpensive tray the I picked up in the $ store.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 188
  • I heat set using my embossing tool.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 189
  • I placed my “To” and “From” stamps on the same block and stamped them onto the tag using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 190
  • I sponged some white ink onto the edges of the tag to soften the look.
Whiff of Joy 2010 - Page 191
  • Here you can some of the different tags I created. I tied a small length of red ribbon to each one. It gives them a little “pop” of color.
Hope you liked my simple little tutorial and that it motivates you to create some sweet gift tags of your own!

Embossing with Nestabilities Video Tutorial

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today! This is Jeanette and I have some very simple yet elegant Christmas cards to show you. At Christmas time I want to be able to send hand-made cards out but I do not want the cards themselves to be too bulky or I end up paying so much in postage. These cards seemed the perfect solution! I really love the love of Kraft paper on Christmas cards but this would look stunning with any color of cardstock!

I created a short video tutorial to show you how I created the ovals around the image:

Hope you liked this little idea!
