Christmastime Henry

Happy Thursday everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Ellie here today. I hope you are all doing wonderful and are enjoying the (pre) Christmas time.  I just recently received my Whiff of Joy Winter stamp kit, and decided to share two cards with you.

First up is the very cute Henry the mouse as an angel.

He has been stamped onto copic xpress blending card and colored with copic markers. Other papers/card stocks are all from SU. I finished it off with a little bit of glitter and some twine. Sentiment is part of this cute set. As you can see, I also stamped a design onto the kraft card stock using stamps from the kit.

Here is my second card, using the cute Henry as a shepherd.

Copics on xpress blending card were used again, and I fussy cut the image. The pinecone embellishment is also a stamp from this kit, as is the sentiment. Papers are all from my stash.

I hope you like my two creations today!
Thanks again for your visit!

Scrap your Stash - Too Cute to Spook

Happy Saturday everyone! Ellie here today, my turn to share a creation with you. Today's theme here on the blog is:

I don't even want to tell you how many designer paper scraps I have, it's ridiculous - not to mention ribbon scraps and old unfinished card scraps that I have been wanting to take apart....but I was so afraid that I wasn't going to find much halloween themed paper. I was so wrong, as I found plenty and so I remembered a card sketch I saw which used  several designer paper scraps, and so I created the card using that sketch.

I only used 3 different designer papers, although I found plenty more I could have used. But I wanted to just focus on the colors I used for coloring the cute image.

By the way, my little squares are just 1x1 inch, so this sketch really is perfect for all those small paper pieces you have left over from other projects.

The cute image is from Whiff of Joy's Fall Stamp Kit (Kit No. 3). It's been colored using copic markers and fussy cut. Sentiment and leaf stamped over the sentiment are also part of the cute kit. I added some diecut bats to my card to finish it off.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you liked the card I created using my scraps.
Have a fabulous weekend,

By the Sea

Good Morning and a happy Monday to all of you! I hope your week is off to a great start. Ellie here today sharing a card for today's "Make a card Monday" theme. I hope you like it.

I used stamps from the Whiff of Joy Number 2 stamp kit. I hope you had a chance to pre-order this kit. I am so loving all the cute stamps that were included, and matching sentiments too!  It's too late to order the kit now, but keep your eyes open, soon the pre-order starts for the secret stamp kit Number 3. I know I am already looking forward to it!
The image has been stamped onto xpress blending card using memento black ink, then colored using copic markers. It's been fussy cut. The beach and sea were cut out using some very old templates that I've had forever.
To create  the half circle background I added some gesso to the light blue designer paper, and stamped one of the sentiments all over it using very light ink. Then  I layered it onto a circle doily diecut.
I did some sewing around the edges, added a matching strip of card stock, and then the anchor with some twine. The anchor was also stamped onto xpress blending card, colored with copics and cut out. It was part of this cute stamp kit.
And that is all from me for today, hope you liked my card as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Until next time,

Where words fail...

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!
Ellie here today, it's my turn to share a creation with you, and since it's a Tuesday, today's topic is

While looking for a creation to "tag", I found the most gorgeous tag created by the very talented Alice. I loved the sketch she used on the tag, so that is what inspired my tag.

Here is Alice's creation. Isn't it just amazing!!

I decided to go with shades of turquoise for my tag.

All stamps are from the Spring secret stamp kit. Sadly it is no longer available, as you can get these kits with pre-orders only, but the Summer Secret stamp kit can now be pre-ordered. I didn't actually see it yet, but I have a feeling, it's going to be another super adorable kit.

As you can see, I followed Alice's sketch on my tag, using a circle doily die, instead of an actual doily. The music note stamp image was stamped onto the blue paper using gesso, and onto the white doily parts using light turquoise ink.
Cute Henry has been colored using copic markers, then cut out.
I embellished with some tinsel ribbon, glitter, twine and a few rhinestones.

Here is another view.

 And one more.

Please excuse the "pinkish" backgrounds. I used white paper, but no matter what I tried, it always turned out this way. I took more than 30 photos all together on different days, but they all have the pinkish background. So sorry...

Hope you have a fabulous and sunny day!

Tutorial Thursday

Hello Whiff of Joy fans and welcome to a new Tutorial Thursday!! It's Ellie here today, and my very first time posting here on the Whiff of Joy blog!
I am so excited and a little bit nervous too, as it is actually my first step by step tutorial ever!

I decided to show you how to create a one of a kind background using shaving cream and some re-inkers.

This is a photo of what you will need:
regular shaving cream (not the gel kind)
2 - 3 re-inkers (I used SU, but you can also use distress inks, memento, etc.)
white heavy weight card stock (or glossy card stock)
plate
mixing utensil
paper towels (not pictured)

Step one:
Place some shaving cream onto your plate.
Add 2 to 3 drops of each color onto the foam.

Step 2
Using your mixing device mix is slightly to create a texture.
Tip: Don't mix it too much or it will all turn one color.

Step 3
Now place your  card stock onto the shaving cream.
Move it around to cover the whole front with cream.

When you are done it will look like this.

Step 4
Using a paper towel start wiping the shaving cream off of the card.

When finished it will look like this.
I made two pieced, and note how there is a different pattern on each.

And here is my finished project, using the super cute Henry with guitar as my main stamp. The music notes and sentiment are from the spring stamp kit as well.

Did you notice how I used one of the stamps from the kit all over the background to create more texture?
Henry was colored using copic markers, and I used my super sharp cutterbee scissors to cut him out. To finish the card I did a little bit of machine sewing, and added a button and some twine.

I hope I inspired you to get a little messy and get out your shaving cream for some inky fun!

Until next time,

happy stamping,
