Whiff of Joy Design Team 2013

Good-morning! We are happy to be welcoming the 2013 Whiff of Joy Design Team today!

Thank you to everyone who applied for a position with our team during the Design Team Call. Katharina and I were overwhelmed with the number of applicants and that is why it has taken us so long to make an announcement. It was honestly very hard to choose just a few from amongst the many talented people who applied. In fact, we ended up adding a few more Designers than we intended simply because we could not let them slip away!

We are thrilled to be announcing our new team 2013 team:

With so many amazing applications, we have also decided to start having monthly Guest Designers. So, if you applied to the Design Team call, you may be invited at some point this year to be a Guest Designer!

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a very special “thank-you” to our 2012 team-mates:

Stempeln auf einer Kerze - stamp on candle

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

heute darf ich euch ein Tutorial für Whiff of Joy zeigen

Ich habe letzte Woche meine erste Kerze bestempelt und bin hin und weg davon.

 Nun wurde ich mehrfach gefragt, wie ich es gemacht habe.

Also Ihr braucht:

eine Kerze ;)

Seidenpapier

einen Stempel

ein Stempelkissen (Memento, StanzOn)

Farben zum colorieren

Heißluftfön

Als erstes stempelt Ihr den Stempel einmal auf das Seidenpapier und schneidet dieses Motivnah aus

Nun coloriert ihr den Abdruck. Ich habe diesen mit den Distressmarkern gemacht.

Dabei solltet ihr aber aufpassen, das es nicht zu nass wird. Sonst macht das Seidenpapier schlapp .

Man kann natürlich auch Buntstifte nehmen.

Habt Ihr den Abdruck fertig legt ihr ihn glatt über die Kerze.

Darauf einen Streifen Backpapier. Achtet darauf das dieser lang genug ist, sonst verbrennt Ihr Euch die Hände.

Zieht alles schön stramm und los geht es.

Mit dem Heißluftfön drüber gehen. Ihr werdet beobachten, das sich der Abdruck farblich verändert. Ähnlich wie beim Embossen.

Ist das mit dem ganzen Abdruck passiert, ist die Kerze fertig.

 Ihr könnt das Backpapier abnehmen und Eurer Werk bewundern

Christmas Wreath** SonjaB **

Hallo all today it`s my turn
I want to show you how I created a Wreath,but the problem is.... I did not take pictures wile I was working on it,so I do hope you understand by just looking at it,It`s not that difficult It`s only A lot of sewing 

I started with many pieces of fabric and hand sewed them piece by piece to make a sort of little pillow,
I filled it with cottonwool then I sewed it close .After that I picked some Twine "vintage linen"and made a sort of bow around the pillow,I made 45 of them but its your own choice how much,it also depends on the wretch you have.
After that I put the pillows on my wreath also with some twine.

The little cotton rolls I stamped with Stazon using the adorable Christmas sentiments from the Winterkit 2012 after that I filled them with some cotton and some drops of Vanilla smells lovely by the way;)
I glued the vanilla rolls with my heat gun direct on the wreath with the pillows.

I also colored some little stamps and cut it with some different Dies from Whiff of Joy.
I used Mini Henry hugging Heart,the other two are from the Winterkit 2012
I hope you understand it all,my English isn`t that good anymore ,I was born in Canada you wouldn`t tell.....lol

Paperbag Card

Hello and good morning everyone. Karina here today. And I want to show you how to make an amazing card with a simple paper bag. The bag I used is in the size of 21.5 x 12.3 cm. First I thought they are quite small, but in the meanwhile I love this size. They give a great format of the card.

Fold it like on the photo below, and let's begin to decorate each page of the paper bag...

Here you can see the closed card and the front... I used one of the sweet new image from Whiff of Joy 'Cute Snowman'. Be careful to add the ribbon to close the card before you glue the front panel to the card. I coloured the sweet snowman with Distress Inks.

 Here you can see the inside... Glue the two edges of the paperbag ground down to give a tag a better hold.

 The tag is a die from Whiff of Joy as well. And so is the lantern.

And here you can see the backside of the paperbag card, decorated with the gorgeous snowflake dies from Whiff of Joy. Be careful here as well to glue the ribbon before you add the back panel to the paper bag.

Yep, and we have a hidden panel as well, who is hidden in the paper bag. Add a strap at the one side of the panel to get it out of the bag. I decorated the hidden panel with ticket sentiments, those and the matching dies are available at Whiff of Joy.
