Mini Pyramid Halloween treat box

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a tutorial to show you how to make a quick and easy mini Halloween treat box.

To make the box, you will need:

Halloween patterned papers
Score board
Hole punch
Scrap of black card
Black embossing powder
Scrap of white card
Stick on gems
Distress, embossing and black ink

How to make the box:

1. Cut a piece of patterned paper to measure 6x6inches.
Score every two inches

2. Turn paper and score again every 2 inches so you end up
with a cross shape. Fold and burnish folds

3. Cut the squares at each corner out so you are left with a cross shape.
Measure half way accross the top of each protuding square and draw a triangle shape as shown

4. Repeat on each side

5. Punch a hole near top of each triangle

6. Stamp the sentiment, cut into a banner shape, ink edges and set with an eyelet.

7. Stamp and heat emboss the bat shape

8. Cut out the bat shape and add gems for eyes.
I coloured some clear gems with an alcohol marker to make them orange.

9. Thread twine through the holes and add some treats.
Pull the twine up and tie to create the pyramid shape.

10. Tie the tag onto the box

11. Add the bat to the back of the box and you are finished!

These make great treat boxes for kids parties or fun wedding favours if made in different colours and tied with beautiful vintage style lace. I hope you give these a try!

Halloween Treat Bags

Hello, all! It's Alice here and I am sharing a Halloween treat idea with you today.

You will need:

  • Already made mini bags. Or
  • Paper measures 7 1/2" x 5"
  • Double sided adhesive
  • Stamps of choice
  • Ink
  • Sewing machine
  • Decorative scissors (optional)

First, stamp and decorate the paper pieces and paper bags as desired. I kept them simple with stamping only since those bags are very likely to be torn open and small decorative pieces might be dangerous to small kids. Getting to the candies inside safely is more important here. =)

I used the newly released 3? Ghosts and images from Happy Halloween set.

If you chose to use paper sheets, add adhesive to the stamped side of one short sides of the paper.

Peel off the paper backing of the double sided tape and adhere the two short sides together to form a tube.

I then went to my sewing machine to sew the bottom of the tubes together as shown above.

Now you can stuff the bags with treats.

I then sewn the openings of the treat bags shot and trimmed them with either plan scissor or decorative scissors.

And here you have it! You can either tear the bags from the sewing lines or simply rip them open however pleases you to get to the treats. =) This can go very quickly if you chose to use already made paper bags, with a little stamping it just makes them that much more special. Hope you will give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wooden Button & Stickle Glue

Using glue..stick the MDF heart onto the paper and gently cut around the shape using a craft knife

and it should look like this...!

Bending some craft wire in half...as shown above...thread some beads...

and thread the wire through the holes of the heart...

 and fix with some tape...
you can also cover the back of the heart with some matching paper if you prefer..

Decorate the wire with the ribbon and twine as shown above...

Die cut the Snowflake Trio die...and decorate the heart as shown..

Then colour the adorable Henry...matt onto the scalloped die cut then stick into place with some foam pads...add the final snowflake with button...and some Stardust Stickles too..

Halloween Coffin

Hello everyone and welcome to creepy Saturday... hehe... well, I have a Halloween project to share with you today... a tutorial how to create this little coffin you can see below. The newest images just released are just perfect for it.

Here we go... first a list what you need for this project:

  • stamp (I used Maya as Frankenstein's Wife)
  •  colouring medium (I used Distress Inks)
  • Aquarell paper (I used Montval aquarell paper)
  • craft cardstock
  •  acryl paint
  •  sponge
  •  embellishment and dies as you wish

Below you have the template to print and cut out with the measures. Of course you also can make it any bigger or smaller.

I recommend to use some craft carstock of at least 300 gram to give the coffin a good stability. Cut out the whole lines and score the spotted lines. Don't forget to cut the lines where the lashes have to go in for closing the coffin.

Afterwards I gave the cuffin a used look with dab some dark brown acrylic paint onto the cardstock. I distressed the edges with a brilliance pearlescent ink pad. Afterdrying I glued the coffin together.

And now the coffin is ready to decorate as you wish.

A close up of the image...

I put a spiderweb over some flowers.

Here you can see how it looks like from the side... of course to add a spider is a must :o). You can get them in the gorgeous Halloween charm box.

And here you can see how I made the inside... I decided to create a deluxe model with red snake leather inside... he he he :o))

Well, I hope I was able to give you some inspiration to create the perfect Halloween decoration. If you have made a coffin by yourself please leave a message here. I would love to visit you and see what you made. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Have a wonderful day now!

Stretching Your Supplies by Jane Johnson

Today I am going to share with you how I make cards in a way that stretches your supplies a little further, which I find helps as we all know this hobby can really tug on those purse strings!!  This method allows me to create the matting for four cards from each 12"x12" piece of cardstock I buy!! There are also some other little tips for stretching your supplies of lace and ribbon.

Step 1.

Start with a 6" square of your chosen colour cardstock.

Step 2.

Cut a square from the centre of your 6" square cardstock leaving a 1/2" border all the way around.  You will end up with a 6"square frame and a square of cardstock as shown in the picture above.

Step 3.

You can now mat your chosen paper onto the 6" square frame created in step 2.

Step 4.

Take the smaller square of cardstock created in step 2 and cut your chosen image mat shape from the centre of it so that you still have the full square and your chosen shape as in the picture above.

Step 5.

You can now adhere your second choice of patterned paper to the square, covering the circle cut out in step 4.

Step 6.
This step allows you to stretch your paper supplies too!!  Using your smaller matted square as a guide, cut a square from the centre of the large matted square, ensuring it is slightly smaller to allow you to glue the small matted square over the top of the hole you will have created.

Step 7.
Your card base should then look like the picture above - and you can now save the square of paper you have cut out to use on another project!

Step 8.

Adhere the smaller mat over the top of the cut out in the base mat as shown in the above photo.

Step 9.

You can also be thrifty with your paper supplies.  I want to create a coloured paper background for my image on this card and have cut it from the centre of the paper so that I can use the rest of the paper for a base on another card.

Step 10.

Remember the circle (or your chosen shape) we cut out in section 4??  If you have nesting dies you can take the next die down and cut it from the centre of your shape - this gives you another shaped mat to use on another project!  I am going to use the circle frame created on this card.

Step 11.

In the photo above I have matted my circle of paper onto the scalloped circle frame shown in Step 10.

Step 12.

I also like to make my ribbons and lace go a little further.  If it is going to be underneath a layer or image mat I just use small pieces either side as shown in the picture above, rather than a full piece all the way across that will be hidden by the image.

Step 13.

For this card I wanted to create a mat for a sentiment, so I have cut it from the centre cut out in step 10 that we have reserved for another card - it doesn't matter that it has the middle cut out if we're going to use it to mat an image onto it!

Step 14.

I have used the little scalloped circle to mat my number nine, stamped with the new numbers stamp set.

Step 15.

I wanted to create a banner using the pennants die for this card.  Luckilly I had a small scrap of the same colour cardstock.  Again, if you cut your shape from the very centre of the cardstock this piece can be used to mat a rectangle element on a future card too!

Step 16.
In the photo above you can see my finished card and the leftover pieces created from all the mats as we went along that can now be saved and used on another card or project!

Here's my finished card.  As you can see I have added another little decoration cut from a scrap of green card using the grass die before adding my image of Soccer Ben that I have fussy cut out to complete the card.  I hope I've given you some ideas on how you can save a little bit of money while you're crafting!  Thanks for looking.
