Quick & Easy Money holder by Naoual du Mortier

Today I'm going to show you how to create a quick & easy moneyholder.

The supplies you'll need for this tutorial are:

- whichever die cutting machine you use

- nestabillities

- your choice of dp & cardstock

- your choice of stamps/embellishments

I took the largest oval nestabilitie I have, folded a piece of dp and lined the paper on to the nestabilitie, the folded part a little under the nestabilitie line that cuts trough the paper (hope that makes sense).

When you've cut trought the paper it should look like this:

Then take a next piece of dp and line it up until half the nestabilitie like this:

Cut trough that too, and then take your largest scalloped oval nestabilitie cut trough a piece of cardstock, ink all the pieces of paper you've cut and line them up like this:

Then I cut a smaller oval to put on the inside, a little space to write down a message. I've used gold cardstock and stamped a accesoire stamp of the Aladin kit on it in gold ink. Then I inked up another accesoire stamp of the Aladin kit in gold ink and stamped it on the bottom part. Looks really pretty and sparkly IRL, the weather wasn't really working with me, sorry for the awful pics but I hope you get the idea!

Embellish the moneyholder any way you choose. For the outside of the moneyholder I used yet another accesoire stamp of the Aladin kit, the gorgeous treasure chest! I heat embossed it with golden embossing powder.

Again, sorry for the awful pics, looks like summer is over before it even begun!

Recipe:

Papers: TCP Studio - Morrocan Market

Stamp: Whiff of Joy
Colour medium: Copic Sketch Markers

Embellishments: Embossing powder; ZingTools: Nestabilities; Spellbinders,

Punched Flower Tutorial

I have done a quick tutorial on how to make these dahlia-type flowers.  I was playing – as you do – whilst demonstrating at one of the shows and quite liked the look of this flower.
bevs-flower-9
Tools needed:
Large and medium Retro Flower punches
Distress Ink and applicator (my hubby made me 36 of these – a huge money saver that I could spend on more stash lol)
An embossing tool and mat (I use a piece of lino)
Pokey tool
Bone Folder

bevs-flower-1
To make the large flower punch out 2 each of the small and large flowers (I used 1 patterned paper and one plain). and ink around the edges.
bevs-flower-2
Curl each petal over a bone folder to give shape and movement to the petals
bevs-flower-4
Indent the centre of each flower and pierce a hole in the centre for the brad
bevs-flower-5
Pinch the points of each petal tightly
bevs-flower-6
Give them a good spritz with Glimmer Mist and then assemble – layer the two small flowers on top of each other (patterned paper at the top) then then layer on top of the large flowers and hold together with a brad.  Once the Glimmer Mist dries it seems to firm up the paper so the flower keeps it’s shape beautifully.  To make a small flower just use 2 layers of the small punched flower and assemble as before.

And there you have it, a quick and easy flower that you can co-ordinate to your project using left over bits of paper.

And an arty shot.  The image is Confirmand Melinda from Whiff of Joy

Fabric Flowers by Bev

Today I am going to share how I make my fabric flowers.  On the card below I have used organza to make the flowers, in the little tutorial I have used cotton quilting fabric.  You can use any fabric, even thicker fabrics such as velvet.

I've added the notes on each photo to keep it simple.

I made two different sized flowers for this card.  The image and sentiment is from the new Whiff of Joy Store Stamp kit that is only available from stores that have elected to stock the kits.  The list of stores is on the Whiff of Joy website here

Scallop-Shaped Easel Card by Tori Hemingway

Today I will be showing you how to create a Scallop-Shaped Easel Card. This is a simple spin on the ever-popular easel card. To start, you will need:

1 - 5x10 sheet of card stock**
1 - 5x5 sheet of card stock**
Scoring Tool
Scallop Shaped Nestibility (or any other shape)
Die Cutting machine compatible with your Nesties
Scor Tape (or any other strong adhesive)
Stamps, Patterned Papers & the embellishments of your choice

** I chose these sizes for my card stock pieces, based on what size Nestability I was using. I has to be big enough to cut out the shape intended.

Directions:
1. Score your 5x10 piece of card stock in half and then fold in half.2. Lay your Nestability die cutting side up on your die cutting machine (I am using a CB). Lay the folded end of your 5x10 cs from #1 on top of the Nestie die, so that you can still see the points of the ridges peeking out and carefully die-cut.
3. Cut out your 5x5 card stock normally (no edges peeking out). This is what you should have when you have done these two steps.
4. Using the folded piece, score the top piece in half. I have drawn a white line, so you can see it better.
5. Adhere Scor Tape to the bottom of this scored side.
6. Carefully line up the 5x5 piece you die cut, so that the scallops match and press them together. This is what your card base will look like once you add the top to it.
7. Embellish with your favorite stamps and goodies! I used the belly dancer Willow image and sentiment from the Aladin 1001 Nights Store set.
8. In order to make this card 'stand up', you must add some sort of 'anchor' to the inside of the card that the top of the card can catch on. I used this flower embellishment. The scallop catches the petal and makes it stand up. This does tend to make the cards a little bulky, but it is so pretty - it's worth it! Other variations for the 'anchor' can be brads, bling, etc.
Here is a side view of my finished card.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to try your own Scallop Shaped Easel Card! ~Tori

A z-folded card by Jorunn

Today I will show you an easy way to make some variety to our cards.
It is still a 15 cm x 15 cm card base, but we add a z-shape to it, so part of the inside will show too.
It is easy and fun!

You need:
Just regular materials;
Cardstock 14,5 cm x 30 cm
Patterned papers 2  x 7 cm x 14 cm and 1 x 14 cm x 14 cm
Stamped images, and embellishments of your own taste
I have used images from Whiff of Joy's Stamp store kit:
Scheherazade (1001 Nights)
And colored them in with Copic Sketch markers.
***
Start with scoring your card base at 15 cm, with the structure side facing up

Fold the card on the middle, making it a regular square card,
only the structure side is now inside the card base.
And fold half of the upperside back out...
so now half the front is showing and half the inside is showing,
when the card is folded...

The card has now a z-shaped form

It is time to start decorate.
I always makes the pattern papers ready decorated before I glue them to the card base.

This time I have not much decoration on the inside pattern paper,
so I just glue this to the card base right away;

The front:
The base is 7 cm x 14 cm
And I have added some more papers and lace to it

The other inside:
This can not hold to thick embellishments or the card will not close properly

Now glue the front and the inside on the card base too;

Add the inside panel, for the greeting to be written.
Make sure you put this so the front image will be able to hide it

Close the card and adjust the front image, so it covers the inside image

Now I am ready to add some embellishments to the card!

I have added Willow in a bottle, and used roses and gemstones too.

The outside and inside share the same decoration on the right corner,
but when it opens some more decorations will show:

And in the back I have used an accessory stamp from Whiff if Joy's Aladin Kit
along with my signature;

I hope you liked my tutorial, have a wonderful day!
